As a Celtic supporter I can confess to always having liked Charlie Adam. I couldn't believe it when Weary Wally punted him and then (albeit some time later) brought in James Beattie!!!!!
And THEN he described Bunter Beattie as 'Quality over Quantity".

Yeah, like Beattie was a replacement for Adam.

I doubt if Adam will be a big success at Liverpool. But good luck to him.

Harry its true. He was a boo boy things were never going to work out. I wish him all the best.

The truth is Adam was too much of a footballer to fit into Wally's 4-5-1 formation of chuggers and hatchet men so got shown the door.

Now he's a Liverpool player and a Scottish internationalist worth £10m.

Well done Wally

to me that signals major problems with a club's structure when a player like Adam 'can't cut it' but McCulloch, Edu and Whittaker can.

The truth is Celtic fans weren's saying Adam was a great player when he left the Gers.

The truth is there wasn't a big queue of other clubs trying to sign him either.

NO BH, you're suffering from selective memory.

He didn't get many full 90 minutes under Wally and when he did he was often played out of position. His confidence was low and he was forced out the door.

If Wally had recognised his skills and played him in the right position he would have been a good player for Rangers and earned you a lot more money.

But you just remember things in your own blue-tinted fantasy of yours

So there was a big queue of other clubs in for him? Who were they?

McCulloch - the midfield maestro - and Edu the Yank what is a W...!!!

Together probably worth about 7/6d and 20 Embassy coupons.

But, remenber, Wattie paid £1.5 million for Beattie AND HE STILL PLAYS FOR YOU!!!!

(well PLAY is an exageration - he is still a rangers player and you guys still pay his wages) Have a nice day

Tully
He doesn't play for Rangers
but
Rangers PAY for him.

You clearly don't get the point BH and I don't have the special needs training to deal with people like yourself so I'll bid you good night

Adam represents everything which is wrong with the nations football ethos.

Nigh night Harry. Pity you couldn't answer my points. Try again tomorrow.

Celtic fans ridiculed us for playing Adam at the time, so it's a bit rich of them to now tell us they always liked him!

At the end of the day, Smith played him out of position and he was hopeless. Unfortunately the SPL isn't cut out for naturally talented players (Ortiz and Juarez anyone?). If your not a knucklesdragger like McCulloch or Brown, you won't fit into Scottish football!
