Not really. Just because we can improve as a passing unit by not having Rooney in the team as his touch, control and ball retention is average.
Rooney is a very good player, but has limitations that transcend onto the team and the football we play.
Rooney and RVP haven't looked a good partnership whatsoever. There's been flickers of good moments, but effectively it's been two very good players in the same team but don't have a very good understanding with each other - a bit like Rooney and Berba before them.
"He's not for sale and will remain a Manchester United player"
Do you need it any clearer? If there was any chance of him leaving... Moyes wouldn't risk looking a fool by saying the above. He is staying.

I seem to remember Everton and Moyes saying something similar before Rooney left to join us in 2004.
As I've already said, I think he'll stay but things could still change if Rooney still isn't happy.

Yeah they have. They have combined brilliantly for two players who have never played together before this season.
Some of Rooneys passes for RVP goals and vice versa have been outstanding.
The problem has been Rooney's strop with the ex boss.
You lot are forgetting one thing, Moyes dodged it about five times today when he was asked if Rooney wants to stay, If he doesn't, what's the point of having him around? A glum and depressed Rooney is a waste of a squad place
That's why I said flickers, as a partnership they don't link up great.
But I suppose that is down to Rooney's link up play being average so it's hard for him to link up well with many players.

A glum and depressed Rooney still got 16 goals and 10 assists.
Our wingers COMBINED couldn't muster 3 goals and many more than 10 assists between them.
He's staying and personally I'm glad he is.
Rooney is a superb player and I'm glad he's staying. I'm still hoping Nani will also remain at the club.
Nani Rooney Kagawa
RVP.

I totally agree.
How Anderson has lasted 6 seasons is a complete mystery to me
