His ball skills are very, very good.
---------------------
your mum has great ball skills too but i wouldnt pay 23 million ( maybe 20 quid) nor would i have her lining up in cm next season
However he is still not a genuine replacement for rooney and we will need another player.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kagawa and RVP are genuine replacements for Rooney. What we really need is midfield signings. Or just the one if Anderson has a good season this year.
Dunc, I think we all knew that we'd end up with Fellaini this summer
-----------
im on about the playing well part.
last night summed zaha up for me ( and no im not writing him off)
he will be great in some games, yet fecking awful in others.
people complain about nani, but this kid will be the epitomy of inconsistancy for a good few years.
Duncs mum's mums nickname is Carrick because she's used to being on her own in there against 3 men and also because she has crabs.
Robb

How would you describe Fellaini's long and short passing?
Can you give me examples?
E.G. Rooney to RvP volley goal vs Villa
Carrick to Hernandez goal vs Newcastle on New Years'

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Bit of a sweeping statement! He may well frustrate but unlike Nani he may be capable of learning from his mistakes and who knows if that will take 4 weeks or 4 years but only time will tell.
At least he got the assist which shows that even with a so-so game he can still make a difference.

Watch the video in the OP and you'll see Fellaini make some top class passes.

I do n ot base my opinions on YouTube.
You tube can make Scott Parker look like Claude Makelele
Why do you need Robb to explain, have you never watched an Everton game?
Both his short and long range passing are really good.
I think he's a good player and very effective in the Premiership.
Positives:
He has excellent control.
Very strong and tall.
Effective at set pieces.
Would be a good plan B for certain situations.
Has some nice touches as well.
And has scored a few goals.
AND he has also caused big teams problems in the past, including ourselves.
Negatives:
I've just described Andy Carroll.
I do n ot base my opinions on YouTube.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely seeing him do the very thing you doubt he can do is better than any words from us?
I do n ot base my opinions on YouTube.

You clearly don't base them on first hand knowledge of the game either, if you have to start asking if he is a good passer of the ball.
My guess, you looked at his size, you've seen a couple of games where he has been an aerial threat and have put 2 and 2 together to get 5.... "He is a big lump of a player".
btw - Since when has being an arial threat been a negative?
Got to agree with W&R here ()
The type of football we're looking to play, I really don't see what Fellaini is bringing to the table. In the deep lying midfield role, essentially all he is is a poor mans Carrick. I would rather see Cleverley and Anderson start.
I would actually prefer Cabaye tbh.
I have watched Everton and never see this guy ping 40 or 50 yard passes.
Excellent control? Do you know what Excellent control is? Berbatov has Excellent control.
Fellaini's control is like Andy Carroll's
I have seen Fellaini dominate games against City, Arsenal and United a number of times, yet he is allegedly not what we are looking for. Yet Fabregas, who never once dominated a game against us would be our saviour?
Not writing Fabregas off because he's clearly an exceptional player. I just think people are chasing the big name, rather than the sensible signing.

Unless you think that seeing them with your very own eyes and disproving your incorrect statement that he 'never pings 40 or 50 yard passes' isn't your thing.
Darron Gibson was a good passer of the ball. It takes a lot more than that to be a first choice midfielder at this club.
2 passes on youtube?
The top midfielders hit 2 of these every 10 minutes
Now that W&R and SLM have given him the official seal of disapproval, i think it's safe to say he will be a success for us.
Fellaini offers a lot more than Gibson.
The passing debate was just one facet of what he offers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, we've already disproven your claim that he can't make those passes.
So if I showed you making 20 of them you'd claim that the top midfielders make 40 every 10 minutes and so on.
Fellaini offers a lot more than Gibson

As a deep lying midfielder though, what does he offer that Ando or Cleverley don't?
Not writing Fabregas off because he's clearly an exceptional player. I just think people are chasing the big name, rather than the sensible signing.

nail on the head
Other than perhaps Bale, anyone moving to UTD from a club outside the top 4 would be deemed a step down

Fellaini it is.
