Evening Numbers

The British Press to a man should hang their heads in shame. The way they have treated Spurs and their supporters, is nothing short of disgusting. To try to engineer a move away from WHL of one of the best British players of the last decade is gutter press at its worse. They have been printing made up stories for weeks on end, without a shred of evidence.

Evening Sandy - Jamie Redknapp was the worse he is a total hypocrite saying Suarez owes Liverpool loyalty while Bale should be allowed to join Real Madrid he is one bitter & twisted guy !!!

Levy? outwitting someone in a negotiation?

I think you could possibly be right, The Tottenham board are a very closed shop, nothing comes out from them without it being carefully planned.

If you read a transcript of what he actually said, it was all cleverly worded, implied things but never said them.

The Madrid Mafia would have to get up very early in the morning to be one step ahead of Levy.

Even the BBC standards have dropped it would seem, they have even produced articles with quotes from Marca.

Sandy - agree with every word.

According to reports a new deal for ronaldo is close, whether that's just wishful thinking on their part or marca talking out of their rear end to cheer up the fans who have had to endure a summer of Spain laughing at them, or they've somehow stumped up the £17m a year net he's asking for.... Or convinced him to settle for less.

Spurs should be well aware that they are desperate to try and trump barca signing neymar, and desperate people do desperate things. If he goes then we have to make them pay over the odds and on our terms. No falcao, no cavani, no neymar - leaves them with only bale or possibly Suarez as anyone of 'galactico' proportions

I must say that I love the way this seems to be panning out.

Bale has said nothing, wouldn't be surprised if they had told him to just get his head down, and let them handle it, either a deal is struck or not.
Levy and Sir Keith Mills have done the talking and got Madrid on the back foot.
In site they expected us to just buckle, like other "small" clubs.

Class act, those two hats off...

If Bale wanted to stay he would have said so by now

So embarrassing for Real Madrid. Small club that cannot afford Bale.

Best to have irony in times of trouble

posted on 8/8/13

We need some "genuine" Real Madrid supporters on here giving their take of their clubs' bizarre antics.

posted on 8/8/13

The only ironic thing here is that you've got the "biggest and richest club in the world" who got turned down by neymar and are trying to scrape together every single euro they can lay their hands on to sign bale. At which point do they sell some more stuff to the government? Or will they just beg Adidas for a handout....

Would be nice to hear from some more

Totally bizarre, Lion-el.
I thought Real Madrid were a big club who could buy class players on demand. Looks like the Galacticos are destined for the history books now.

"Would be nice to hear from some more"

Let's start with your opinions first.
You "support" Real Madrid, do you not ??

Do you not "support" Real Madrid, Warm Feet ??
We cannot keep track of which "United" you support this week.

RDBD,

I thought so too. Was expecting falcao, cavani, neymar, aguero, gotze, lewandowski etc all to be falling over themselves to move to the bernabeu. Was that not the case??

posted on 8/8/13

Apparently so, Lion-el.
Seems they have to restrict themselves to buying "small" players like Bale nowadays. Well, trying to buy.

A bit like trying to buy Modric?

It's no shame selling to Real Madrid

Poor old Madrid.
Buying Modric was the limit of their spending powers. <ah bless>
Still, at least they were a big enough club to buy him in one payment.
And Jake Livermore is available.
