Roy Keane says 'DON'T PANIC'

This is also the same guy who rarely has a decent word to say about the club these days, and who claimed Nani's red wasn't complete bollócks.

I take anything he says with a pinch of salt. Not sure why or how he'd have any insider information, as I imagine he's cut all ties with the club.

I think Giggs is one of the only people left who were still there with Keane, maybe Rooney too, and I doubt they would have any idea.

It's not insider information Jay!

Just common sense from a guy who knows how transfers work.

United still have a massively strong squad

No need to panic. To compete for the CL they clearly need some quality in the middle of the pitch but in the PL most weeks what they have will be enough

My point was, Robb, that all Keane is doing is saying exactly what pretty much any right minded United fan is thinking.

Jay

Yeah, of course but my article was for the United supporters who think that no signing is coming. I'd have hoped that Keano would bring some relief to their constant holiday to Pessimismville.

For those who are set in the mindset, no amount of quotes from anyone will change their mind.

You could have had a quote from Fabregas, whilst holding a United shirt, and they'd still be complaining that we weren't signing anyone.

I see what you're doing, but Keane is probably the last person you should be using to get your point across

B-b-b-b-but he's an angry Irishman!

thing is, Moyes knows he has Fellaini in the bag as a face saver IF he fails to nail a top class CMF. But he has to make a big decision to either save the ridiculous amount of money he has agreed to give to his mate Kenwright as a leaving pressie for him.... or hold on to that money until he can prise who he really wants out in January, maybe. I am pretty sure that this is what the Glazer has told him. He wont be getting money for both imo. Buying Fellaini AND Baines will make no difference to our results whatsoever.

Out of interest, what 2 or 3 players would you bring in if you were manager?

Ronaldo, Messi and Fabregas.

Fabregas is impossible Jay.

I would pay more for Fabragas and I would keep and play Rooney. (2 good players there who can improve our current team)

The Fabregas deal is dead in the water. Unless you're suggesting going to 45m-50m for him?

Yes. yes, I would.

I would also rather bring in Luke Shaw over Baines.

yes I am

If the decision to sell Rooney has been made (and I think it has) then we CANT sell him for less that £50m. If Roman wants him so bad he will pay that. As they say "hes worth that in shirt sales alone" to Chelsea (if they had any fans globally, anyway)

Thats the state of the transfer market atm. The same money goes around in a circle to pay silly money for players that certain clubs really want.... and the amounts become meaningless.

The problem with Fabrgeas isn't the transfer fee, it's that he himself wants to stay, the deal is dead.

Keeping Rooney is common sense really, don't sell top players if you can't if you can't buy players who'll keep the team on a similar standard or improve it.

very little of that happens in the business of football.

He said he's happy to stay, but if Barca wanted to sell, that's a different story.

oh, and BTW, Keano talks complete tripe these days. He just likes to act tough on the telly to scare Southgate and impress Chiles.

Kondogbia would be a great buy IMO from what I ahve seen of the lad

I think it'll be impossible now to get Fabregas after he sat in the press conference and said he'll stay.

Something that we all want Rooney to do!

Barca will never really want to sell, they would accept a large offer but convincing Fabregas to leave a club that he wants to be at and that wants him will be very difficult.

I still think there will be a surprise signing this summer.

Fellaini has a good chance of happening but other than him it's difficult to see who else. The papers today are linking us with Bale but when even a newspaper gossip story says it's unlikely you have to laugh.

Ideally i'd like us to try and get Lamela from Roma. The guy is extremely tricky, fast and scores a lot of goals. He could be a new star for us.
