Sorry to hear about your kid bubblebhoy can't imagine how that would feel.

My dad had meningitis at the same age and nearly died. Instead he completely lost his hearing. He reckons he got lucky though and I can't help but agree as I wouldn't be here otherwise.

Im not sure I can forgive him though. My gran was battling cancer at the same time as this allbegan (the first illness) and the problem for me is all the stuff inbetween.

The sneaking on to 606 even though he was banned by the wife. Sky + the barca game, jungle drinking his whiskey. Followed by the retirement to jersey because he was getting better. It made me think of someone keeping up there sense of humour while recovering from an illness which is exactly what my gran was doing.

I hate to say it as given what we know now you will think me incredibly naive but it gave me something to compare to.

So when jinky "died" that really hit me quite hard for those reasons.

That's why I can't forgive but equally I do have sympathy for him he clearly has problems and we really should leave him to get the help he needs and let that be the end of it.

I am happy to report that since it all happened my gran was given the all clear and is her usual self

Don't worry though there won't be a super Phoenix granny account showing up soon.

You deserve the highest praise for the way you've dealt with the guy; couldn't have been easy.

I'm trying hard to have some empathy with him but it's difficult.

One question though...he mentioned the death of his mum and uncle, but is his da still alive, or were there perhaps issues with him?
