Fergie wouldn't even get this England team competitive at the top top level. We just don't have good enough players to win major trophies at Int level. Simple as that.

He has managed to lower your standards so much, in years gone by taking two points from six against a nation like Ukraine would not have been good enough, but people seem reasonably happy with it.

Let's be fair, England have had pretty much the same core of players for the past 10 years, and have looked crap with about 4 different managers.

Capello's England were far better: both results-wise and performance wise.
We were miles better under Capello, we absolutely cruised through the qualifiers for the last world cup, and won every game thrashing Croatia home and away.
A far cry from the current results
Hodgson is a boring manager who just nullifies games - just like the last 4 managers, Terrible
Capello got 27pts out of a possible 30pts.
People are revising Capello's results based on a thrashing against the Germans.

We were miles better under Capello, we absolutely cruised through the qualifiers for the last world cup, and won every game thrashing Croatia home and away.

Oh come on, England were crap with Capello, you make out like cruising through a group of 'good' at best to rubbish teams is some sort of achievement.
How did we do int he WC? Who couldn't England beat in the WC group, Algeria or something? Please, don't make out like Roy has taken England backwards, they have been this useless for years
We were awful in the world cup but at least we got there comfortably compared to now when we are struggling with arguably an easier group. Qualifying for the World Cup would be a very good achievement for the incredibly mediocre side we have right now.

He made mistakes in the World Cup itself and admitted that himself, it was his first major tournament though and he should have got another crack at the Euro's.
Under Capello we cruised through qualifying. This time we are making an easy group look difficult and can't beat any half decent teams home or away.
Everyone is talking like beating Poland and Montenegro at home will be a formality, I have no idea why. We can't beat any remotely decent team in competitive matches and unfancied teams love coming to Wembley and upsetting the applecart.
Can't believe Man Utd didn't go for Hodgson instead of Moyes
Their fans were so adamant we gave him a chance
capello knew how to win a game... roy was talking disasters before this game and set out to get a draw.... ukraine were happy and will hope montenegro will beat us now.
Or we beat them... in other words the only team done a favor last night was ukraine.
capello couldn't get past QF.. but he topped groups easily. thats as good as it gets frankly for england but roy with either end up in 2nd in the group... potential play offs... or 3 draw i nthe groups and go out then in the WC or at best crawl into the first knockout round and get hammered.
