Some people join because

It's in the family
It gives them a trade
It gives them a career

That was all when I joined up before Iraq and Afghan

These days people join up knowing what they are joining up to do.

THAT is bravery. I was privileged to train many 16/17 year olds who joined up knowing about the realism of operations. They joined for their country
