Top manager, one of the best around. Think he has lost his magic touch a little last few years.
Wouldn't have minded him at United after SAF but in all honesty kind of glad we didn't get him now. Usually pretty good at man management but not exactly sure on what he is doing with Mata. Not a manager associated with attacking football.
7 I thought what he did with Mata was a little weird but he might just have proved me wrong. Every player now who comes onto the pitch whether they're starting or if they're on as a sub are playing out of their skins. Jose's done what he did to keep everyone on their toes
I see a lot of people saying Jose's lost his touch but they've never really explained why? Maybe they're judging what he did at Madrid too harshly and not looking at it objectively. Its not about money over there. Look at the club as a whole and how they get rid of top class players, managers left right and centre. I dont think anyone's repuatiion should be lessened when leaving Madrid.
Was a top top manager, haven't been convinced in the last few years. Lost the plot at Madrid and his charisma
Statistically Mourinho succeeded at Madrid.
Argument time
"Statistically Mourinho succeeded at Madrid."
Like Wenger has succeeded at Arsenal in the last 8 years
Actually his win % and trophy count are much better
1 la liga and 1 copa del ray in 3 years wasn't it?
3 trophies in 3 years (1 title) and a 70% odd win %. Best Real manager statistically since Del Bosque
I didn't want to pass too much judgement on his actions regarding Mata as we don't know the results of it yet but I can easily see how it could get players playing even better.
As for his last few years I am not saying he has become terrible he just didn't seem to have the same magic touch he had pre Madrid during his time at Madrid.
Far too early to judge his Chelsea return but nothing has convinced me otherwise yet. To put it in Fifa ratings let say I previously rated him as a 90-91 whereas I would now have him around 86-87. Still one of the best around.
"3 trophies in 3 years"
You can't count their equivalent of the community shield ffs
I can count whatever I like
I find it funny when people say Jose failed at Madrid and call Barcelona the best team ever.
They don't realize how much they contradict themself's.
So Moyes is currently the best manager in the league based on silverware this season
I don't think it's a quick fix this time.
I think given time, Jose and this Chelsea squad will deliver.
Question is, will he get the time? Only one man can really determine that and it's not even Jose.
Doesn't that make him the worst manager in England over the previous 10 year period?
Fergie then Wenger by my slightly spurious logic
I'm not saying I don't rate Jose by the way, I just don't think he's quite the same at the moment
He's not.
Jose v2.0
I hope...
I'll reserve my judgement until they release v2.1 update
Despite this 'shaky start' we have only dropped points away top top 6 sides and are two points off the top.
Not bad imo.
For best premiership managers I struggle between Jose and Arsene for 2nd place behind SAF.
Whilst there are other good teams in Spain, it is between Real Madrid and Barcelona. If you can get some sort of parity in the games v Barcelona then it can come down to how you get on against the rest and Real are likely to pick up roughly the same amount of points against the rest as Barca.
I think it is crass to even attempt to judge him so early, it wouldbe like trying to judge Moyes right now or Ferguson in hs first 6 years at United.
Madrid, decent record o bad record, the fact remains he was competing with what many believe to be the best team in the world, at least at the time and if he was that bad I doubt the Madrid fans would be bemoaning his loss already as some have been.
Nothing has been wn or lost yet, we also know (some of us at least) that this is a long term project but we also know that past behaviour dictates long term may not be an opton, but havin re hired him whoknows what Roman may or may not do if he feels the roject is not moving along to his expectations.
Besides, a tem is not about the manager, he is an important element of course but with the amount of manages we have been through and the sucess we have enjoyed, bettred only by United in that period, we really don;t have much to complain about.
Not that that will stop us complaining or at least some of us.
