Hardly 'always' gets shown up against the better opposition, as I actually thought he put in good performances vs Everton and Arsenal.
However I think he is deemed to be the first choice CB in this team, when in reality he should be 2nd or 3rd.
He's the captain.. we can't replace that at the moment
Sorry fellas I don`t do all this sentimental rubbish. He is either good enough for the team or he is not. Just because he has been their 10 years and is club captain does not mean he should be in the first XI if there are better players in his position at the club, and there clearly are. This is one of the reasons Spurs never really progress, because we don`t ever seem to get managers with the balls to drop players when they are not doing the business. Do you lot really think Fergie won all those trophies on sentimental craaaaap. If a big decision had to be made about dumping a player past his sell buy date, then he would. The same needs to happen at Spurs.
