Analog,
Do you feel quite strongly that animals aren't executed the right way? My brother is your age (only 21 myself) and he is saying similar things recently.

Fair, wouldn't have dreamt about the possibility til I started to watch what happens in those slaughter houses
Anyone here got a pet dog? Imagine it being boiled alive, bled to death, tortured, etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As many of those programmes I've seen and the horror stories in the sun such as "Girl finds rats tail in KFC popcorn chicken", it still doesn't deter me to be honest. Ignorance is bliss and all that, but you can never be sure what's happening to any kind of food...

I am ostensibly a vegetarian (I only eat meat usually when I am in Hong Kong or China) , and have been since 1986.
But the question for you is : why are you considering this path ??

Edbo,
Firstly, if there was a 'right' way to take a sentient being from it's life, it certainly does not take place behind closed doors in those places.
Btw, if the entire world ate a western diet, it would take two planet earths to support it. Everybody going veggie should theoretically stop world hunger
Thinking about it, I can't remember the last time I went a day without eating meat.
RBDB, awareness and education
"awareness and education"
Of what ??
Of the many benefits of not eating meat, animal cruelty, environmental factors, positives from self restraining, etc

If you care that much mate, just cut down on all red meat and keep fish/poultry in your diet.
Its fecking hard to have a natural source of protein in your diet as a vegetarian. Lots of pulses/nuts/quinoa/eggs, but its so much easier having a chicken breast.
Dundee, you wouldn't be saying that if it was human meat

I suspect the same number of animals will still die. The vegie movement will put downward pressure on prices to sine extent.
Still commendable if you chose to do it.
It's just like a nice bit of pork, Analog.
So I've heard, anyway
