Not Woodward then? Or Gill for leaving the reins to someone who clear has a lack of experience?

Firstly it's a bit hard to predict that 3 of our best 4 players would be injured so much. Secondly Moyes did actually try to bring in a number of top CM's.

But it's not his fault Woodward messed up so often.

We would not be missing Rafael so much if Fabio was covering for him instead of Smalling/Valencia. Simple as.

I'm actually inclined to agree with Stretty here.

It's not that simple Bloodred. Moyes knows the squad much more than any of us and chooses not to play Fabio. There must be a logical reason here. One that the fans would probably agree with if Moyes or whoever sat us down and explained it.

No football manager willfully goes out to pick a side that could be improved by a certain player who isn't picked.

Why does Woodward get all the criticism for the summer dealings? Genuine question, Moyes himself said the whole saga with Fellaini, suggesting he was more involved than people think, ditto with Herreira. You can only judge him on what he says happened, surely...

Robb you are forgetting one thing.
RVP getting injured is all down to Moyes and his training methods and nothing to do with luck.

Aguero has been missing for the past 3/4 games. When Kompany has been missing City have missed him a lot.

If there was a logical reason (which most likely has something to do with Smalling being the 'safe' option defensively), it should have been dismissed as soon as it became apparent that Smalling is not up to the job of playing full back. Which was a while ago.

The only possible reason is that Fabio's head is not in the right place for whatever reason - in which case I dont know think he'd making the bench.

I suppose Moyes was Arsenal coach between 2004 and 2010?

Agreed and when teams lose their best players, the impact is quite a tough one, please see City and Kompany for reference.

What a horribly inept retort.

You should know with someone who's body isn't that resilient you can't use dinosaur methods like moyes is using.

What do you suppose happens in the process of buying a player? Sir Alex often said he told Gill what player he wanted and he let Gill deal with all that stuff.

Surely it can't be too much different with Moyes and Woodward? Moyes probably gave a list of people to Woodward and it was up to Ed to get these players.

Herrera was not Moyes' fault at all IMO, as has been stated many times after our failed attempt, Bilbao are a very difficult club to do transfer dealing with. Bayern knew this and gave themselves ample time to get Martinez a year before and we should have known that. The only person to blame for that is Woodward's, pure and simple, it's his job to know these things and act accordingly. Bayern took a month negotiating with Bilbao (and those same dodgy lawyers) to get Martinez, we tried to do it in a day, amateur.

We were lucky that Ferguson and Gil had such a great understanding and respect for one another. Woodward on the other hand has shown a complete lack of knowledge and understanding of how to do his job, being based in London really doesn't help things either, why can't he have his office in Carrington like Gil did where he was able to speak to Ferguson on a daily basis.

Ideally David Gill would have stayed for one more season with Moyes before handing over to Woodward.

I work in a results oriented industry, we pay for the best and if they do not perform, they are gone.

It is always amusing you resort to insults when people do not subscribe to your BS.

The manager is responsible for the current situation we find ourselves in and the constant excuses made up for him are amusing.
