Was so convinced this article was going to be about west ham's performance
You even have some hilarious people boycotting Japanese products because some village have a taste for dolphins - as their ancestors have done for thousands of years Oh dear.
I sympathised with Japan during the massive earthquake but never again, all this killing of dolphins and whales needs to stop,in my eyes they are the most barbaric civilisation on earth and something needs to b done to stop this barbaric behaviour.
-------
They are dolphins for fack sake!
I hate these mugs that preach about animal rights but then go against their own ethics when it comes to human rights.
What use are dolphins anyways other than for water shows that you take your 5 year old kid to.
Seriously, these reactions are priceless.
"Nations are judged by the way they treat defenceless animals" No they are not, you caaant.

It's even become a diplomatic issue with Western diplomats getting involved. I just don't get the faux outrage. People just cotton onto a bandwagon and just roll with it like single-minded sheep. Ask any of those clowns on that article the difference between killing a dolphin and a cow and they'd just red arrow your comment with no reply.

They catch them to eat them.
It's a dolphin ffs,
Killer whales are also from the dolphin family.
Just because they star in films, does it mean that fisherman can't catch them to earn a living and feed their family?
I may understand certain reactions to animal abuse. Like adult elephants being killed just to saw off their facking tusks and sell it to China. That disgusts me. Or sharks being slaughtered in their thousands for their fins and dumped in the ocean.
But some village killing over a hundred dolphins yearly for food doesn't seem nearly as outrageous as made out.

I think the main issue here should be about how nice dolphins taste.
Never tried one myself but that article has made me want to head over to Japan and get me a nice dolphin steak.
Bacon and dolphin sanwich, hmm sounds tasty,
Can I get a side order of whale meat and seal?
Reckon dolphin would be similar to fresh tuna, not the canned stuff, could be tasty.
The main line of argument in the outrage seems to be that because they are intelligent creatures it's much worse and barbaric.
Well they can't be that intelligent if they keep getting caught and eaten.

bloodred, yep it's those exact same people I'm talking about.
Yoko, the richest tambourine player ever, ono being one of them.
Maybe she could just offer the fisherman a load of cash so they wouldn't have to catch and eat/sell them?
There do seem to be real double-standards on this issue.
South Park did a very good episode regarding the furore surrounding the Japanese's slaughter of dolphins; no-one seems to care if it's animals we're used to consuming, but if someone eats a beloved animal, like a dolphin or a dog, they're deemed to be monsters.
Personally, I'm a vegetarian, but I've never really understood the 'intelligence' argument. I don't think how smart an animal is should matter at all; what matters, IMO, is the pain and suffering that they have to endure.

It's like more outrage about Chinese that breed and eat dogs. It was a similarline of argument to which I pointed out dogs are no smarter than pigs which get slaughtered. Just irrational vilification of a culture that's different to yours. May as well go to the remote Artic preaching to Eskimos about their killing whales and seals which they've done for thousands of years. They'd just have a good chuckle at the liberal Western loon.
