Fans of Wenger must be the only people who don't see trophies as the pinnacle of success at this level of any sport.
We'll agree to disagree Samir. Their pressing wasn't wonderful when we were hammering them 6-1 last season. The players themselves spoke of the shift in philosophy with Pochettino's arrival. Their youth culture doesn't mean they should play with that style. Everton were producing some cracking players at a stage when they were a team of hoofball cloggers.
I'm certainly wowed by Pochettino's work in Southampton. If they had a top striker, they'd certainly be pushing for top 4.
Anyhow, I'm off for a good shut-eye.
This article should have never involved Arsene. I love the guy but he's not better than Mourinho. I love Henry and Bergkamp. Doesn't mean I should rate them higher than Messi.
Jose.
Sheriff, they were new to the Premier League. When they had time to settle and when we played them again in January, it was a completely different side and they outplayed us for large spells of the game. Like I said, Pochettino has improved them, I don't deny that, but he did have a very good foundation to build on. Youth culture doesn't mean they should play with that style? Maybe not, but every time they produce a promising player that comes up from the youth system and has played in the Premier League, they have looked so mature and composed. This isn't a recent thing, Southampton's youth system has been well-documented for years. The players are all familiar with each other and they've cleared their major debts, which have now put them in a much stronger position than they were previously. You can't credit Pochettino with any of that.
Comparing Everton's youth system to Southampton's is pointless because the approaches in terms of how each side nurtures their young players are different, as well as the way they've been taught to play football and the quality of players.
Their work-rate and pressing has improved under Pochettinho and he deserves credit for that, but he has inherited most of this team and its resources that have been available to him. Like I said; his philosophy seemed like a perfect fit for Southampton.
As for them pushing for top 4 with a striker, I'm afraid that's just more of your hyperbole. Too many sides that are better than them already I'm afraid. 7th at absolute best.

So much disrespect for Mourinho in here. With or without money he's a top manager.
In terms of winning a game of football, Mourinho is the better manager, much as it pains me to say it.

well yeah you pretty much did Darren because you are judging everything on trophies and ignoring other factors.
You can tell the clown is a glory hunting Manc.According to his logic Ray Parlour is a better player than George Best because he won more trophies.
