What time is the CL draw on Friday?

Whilst I'm not getting carried away by tonight's game as there have been too many false dawns this season, it was just great to be able to enjoy watching United again.

I'll hopefully be able to say the same a few more times this season but like I said after the West Brom game, tougher tests will come and that's when Moyes will really be judged.

Anyway, just glad to be in the next round and looking forward to a great tie. The only team I'd like to avoid is Chelsea seeing as we play them at least twice a season.

The easiest tie for us arguably would be Dortmund I think given their injury problems and the way they're playing at the moment although things can obviously change.

As long as we avoid barca i don't mind who we get, hate playing them, it's demoralising watching players chasing shadows for 90 mins, rather play bayern anyway.

I'd like PSG.

i.e. chasing shadows for 90 mins + injury time?

TRS, I agree with that.

I don't really fancy our chances of progression but at least a quarter final can add some excitement to our season.

Darren

Ever since our hopes of finishing in the top four have been over, my one remaining hope for the season other than seeing some better football, was to get a great tie in the Champions League because I'll be going.

Even if we lose, I'll enjoy a day in Manchester and I'll have a good time inside Old Trafford because the atmosphere no doubt will be epic.

The similarities with Liverpool 05 are there for all to see.

1. Team massively under performing in league? CHECK.

2. Manager under intense scrutiny and pressure? CHECK

3. HUGE comeback against Olympiakos? CHECK

All we need to do now is the following:

Rest the entire team on the weekend prior to CL games.

Get lucky.

posted on 19/3/14

you might as well give up on the league and focus on the CL. Of course you should play a full strength team against City.

posted on 19/3/14

City is the only league game left with any meaning for me now. For pride and to try and put a dent in their title hopes.

I'd rest our big players in the other games and go all out for the CL. Still VERY unlikely to win it but we may as well give ourselves the best possible chance.

Is rather get pasted in the next round than go out to the Greeks in a closely fought contest.

Even if we face bayern or real it's preferable to take the l to them teams.

This was one of the few games I've enjoyed watching us this season.

Hopefully we can put on some similar displays for the rest of the season and try and give our fans some entertainment.

I wouldn't go mad in terms of resting players for the next round as momentum will be very important going into those games.

Ideally we should be going into these games on the back of a couple of wins and/or good performances with some confidence.

We need to rest most of our players for the quarter finals and the remainder of the competition so that we can retain the CL next season. We don't want to be tiring out our players before we have even had a decent chance at retaining it. 2 in a row is good for this team but wouldn't flatter it. 3 in a row is what Moyes should be aiming for. Dealing with Rooney and Welbeck's egos after winning the world cup is all I am worried about right now.

Resting our team doesn't guarantee we'll get through but it should give us a better chance. Better to be fresh for these games.

Be good to draw a team who have tough games in their domestic league either side I suppose with something riding on them.

The CL is as good as ours. We are like Starship, in that nothing's gonna stop us now.

I'm still frustrated Kagawa doesn't even get on the pitch.

These sort of games we need him to be integrated into the side, especially as we struggle to keep the ball.

if he's not sold in the summer i'll be amazed

Facebook told me Kagawa would play a part tonight.

posted on 19/3/14

Our team doesn't suit Kagawa and vice versa.

Why can't our fans see this?

Kagawa needs to play in a tippy tappy team. Not a team like us.

Kagawa coming in wouldn't improve us for me. We look better with genuine pace.

If we win Champs League then do we think Moyes/Glazers will decide these players are good enough and the war chest will shrink?

Completely agree.

Thought he would've been ideal to bring on tonight to help gain some control when Olympiacos were on the front foot.

It was also odd seeing as Moyes said he would be involved tonight although he could've just meant on the bench.

I just don't think Moyes has much intent to use Kagawa which is sad considering Kagawa's been involved in quite a few of our better performances this season especially when he's played in his preferred position.
