Il be honest, I backed them at odds of 10-1 a few weeks back. Purely as it's inevitable we will both go up, but if we don't win the title iv got the compensation of £200 in my back pocket!
Iv also backed Burnley to beat us on sat at odds of 2-1, again if we win or draw il be happy, lose and at least iv got a bit of a softner! Disloyal? No, just clever
The way i see it, after we play burnley tomorrow, by the next time they play were gonna be 12 points in front! League all sown up!
Your gonna be one of those fans who boos there own team for winning
Ridiculous thread
If you're going to bet on it thorney, do it now. If Burnley win tomorrow the odds will be slashed, if we win it'll be a massive psychological boost. If it's a draw the situation will be difficult to call. Either way it won't be such an enticing bet.
I'm really hoping that we up our game significantly on Saturday to put this possibility to bed and see all of you lose your wuss money.
Nothing to do with booing a team!! Id never want us to lose but if we do I may aswell gain some comfort from it!
u19414,, just because i see a value bet , which i dont want to happen doesnt make me a fan who boos their team.what is the link?
Either put a point forward correctly, or give some substance to your irrelevant comment.
Point is it sounds ridiculous to me to bet on a team your competiting against!
Fed up of reading all these bottling threads "o my god weve just drawn 2 games.... The worlds going to end! " ffs were 18 games unbeaten, were the best team in the league. Tomorrow will be a cagey game but more open than the previous 2 as its 2 attacking teams, teams like yeovil park the bus. And they did very well on tuesday. No easy games in this crazy league
I am just saying 5/1 is good value, why is this a bottling thread??
i know we are 18 un beaten , but Burnley are a very good team who just might nick it.
Face facts , we are top but they are close on our heels, and cant stop winning recently.
We have 2 extremely hard games coming up which will have a big influence on where we finish.
i hope we pick up 6 points , but cannot be confident.
Far from ridiculous, its actually very smart. If we win which we all hope we do then you are happy. Draw again we are happy. Lose, whilst havin good odds then yes you are unhappy we have lost but at least a few quid in ya back pockets
Theres two things I can't accept here;
1. Betting against my own team. Ever
2. The fact that thorney has suggested something very smart.
I get this. If I ever bothered betting of also take that bet Thorney. Ignoring our ties to our club, the odds are good and Burnley's form is annoyingly also good.
However, I'll be at Turf Moor in the sea of blue on Saturday hoping beyond hope that you lose your bet and we get a massive win.
COME ON THE FOXES!!
So your sat at the KP, last game of season, if we win we go up as champions.
If we lose to Donny, Burnley win the league, which way will you vote on that one?
If i do it, i hope i lose it, but 20 to win 100 seems worth getting disappointed for.
G'Day foxes. A friendly Ram fan here (as Blackstarr will testify!) Well done on your inevitable promotion this year. Thoroughly deserved.
Just to say I regularly place a small bet on Derby losing. Doesn't mean I dont want them to win any less, just provides the funds to drown my sorrows if we lose.
The fools are the ones who bet on their own team to win. Lose the game and your bet and you get a double kick in the goolies.
For a significant amount of cash I could live with the disappointment of 2nd.
Anyway, back to our "disastrous" form. Even if we lose our next 2 the worse we'll be is level on points with Burnley.
I think if that happens we'll still win the division
Peeder always welcome over here mate. You must be feeling pretty confident about promotion prospects yourself. I think its between you and Wigan in the play offs....would be good to see another midlands team promoted
I appreciate that football is a largely emotive sport driven by our own bias towards our own club, but totally disagree that betting against your own team is a bad thing or somehow shows a lack of support for your own sport. Betting is, by it's nature, based around facts and trends, not emotion. Which is why those who bet on England to win the World Cup when they are clearly not going to are chuffing idiots, IMO.
The odds for Burnley to win the league at 5-1 in a two horse race are pretty damn good. However, I'm not sure that the bet is necessarily a good one at this stage - if we win, we're 6 points clear with a game in hand and would go into the final 8 games of the season with one hand and four fingers on the title. If we lose, however, I think the pendulum will swing to Burnley and, for me, would be slight favourites as they will have added emphasis and confidence.
You also need to remember that Burnley have three key players out, whereas we have an almost fully fit squad. For some reason, I don't see Burnley beating us. I reckon it'll either be 1-1 or we'll snatch it.
In short, if you think Burnley will win tomorrow, take the bet. If you think it'll either be a Leicester win or a draw, keep your money where it is

Following in the same vein (a prediction for tomorrow), and mine have gone fairly well to date, I'm forecasting:
Burnley 1 City 2
Why the negativity?
We've risen to the challenge time and time again this season so there's no reason why we won't tomo.
Could never bet against City, no matter what the rewards
Finally a derby fan I agree with Peeder.
Just because I bet against my team does not mean I am any less loyal than someone who doesnt!! Just means its a win win for me
I put £20 on Burnley to win the league at 5/1 on Tuesday night, softens the blow if we screw up. Couldn't believe they were offering 5/1, certainly sucked this mug into parting with £20, but like I said, its a win-win for a Leicester fan
Gentlemen. Greetings from Turf Moor. Interesting to read your views on the Burnley title odds. Personally I think they are about fair. We have to beat you guys tomorrow ( without our 3 best players) and then hope you lose at Wigan for us to have a realistic chance of becoming Champions.
All our thoughts are on promotion and not the title. If we lose tomorrow and again at Watford we could be only 4 points ahead of QPR. Hopefully by then we will back to full strength.
Would be happy with a point tomorrow and no injuries.
Shall we jus call the game off and a point each?
P.s...... gentleman plus one lady 👍
