Can’t moan with the offside as that’s that but how Pickford wasn’t sent off is baffling.

We had more than enough chances to win the game and I think Adrian could’ve come for the cross for the DCL goal.

That's just not offside though, it's an elbow FFS and barely even that. What annoys me is the officials look for reasons to rule it out.

I think VAR should work like the review system in baseball. Managers get one chance to review a decision they don't like. Call on the field stands unless there is clear evidence to overturn it.

If the lines touch or overlap in any way then it shouldn't be ruled out, we're talking mm based on a freeze frame.

Actually more annoyed today than I was 2 weeks ago

Let’s not make the game more like baseball or any other American sport for that matter.

Just bin var. it’s sucking the joy out of the game

Been a long time since I’ve felt absolutely sick after a match but this is one of them.

There’s just no excuse for that kind of shocking officiating and it has significant consequences come the end of the season. It’s just not offside, I’m sorry. I don’t need to draw stupid lines on a screen. It’s like the Firmino one at Villa last year, clearly onside with the naked eye. I’m baffled.

VVD injured from a leg breaker, Thiago injured from a leg breaker after a magnificent debut. Alisson out too. Worst hit side by covid by far. Refereeing incompetency costing us points.

Just feels like everything is going against us so far this season and may well be one where we have just to settle for top 4. Can’t challenge with the luck we are having so far.

Really hard to take as we should be celebrating one of our greatest derby victories here but had that ripped away from us through sheer incompetency and are licking our wounds with nothing to show for it.

Neo we got out of all that with a draw v a high flying Everton.

We need to take our chances.

Our defence needs looking at, Gomez doesn’t even jump when Calvert lewin scored.

I’d rather we improve ourselves in areas we can to basically be able to override any VAR mishaps through being that good.

We did that last season and we need to do it again.

What a farce. Yes, I can understand a team wanting to negate our strengths but there are other ways of going about that than trying to end player’s careers. Absolutely shocking tackles from the Everton lot. Don’t get me started on the officiating....

The result annoyed me but the sheer recklessness of their tackling has left a sour note. I really hope one of our lads passed them on Covid and their squad is obliterated.

Back to the game. We were much better today. The goals we conceded would never have happened if VVD was on the pitch. Matip was excellent while Gomez is the next Lovren.

Adrian just made everyone nervous but we know he is crap.

Midfield was excellent but Bobby once again does not look like scoring.

The ironic thing is that all those years ago in 2013 when we got robbed in literally identical circumstances when Suarez scored when clearly onside I seem to remember pining for some kind of technology.

Now we’ve got it, the linesman makes the correct decision on field, yet some imbecile off it somehow doing the technology manages to Fack it up again.

You literally couldn’t make it up

Can someone tell me why Manes red line isn't lined up with Mane and is in fact lined up 3 inches ahead of his arm?

Sorry but how can anyone deny a corrupt VAR official today?

its a joke.

I've calmed down now. An away point in a derby is never a bad thing, and it's another tough game out of the way. Let's forget about the joke decisions and move on. Sheff Utd and West Ham at home next two games, with CL games in there too. Could do with getting the six points on the board there as November looks a little tricky.

I hate this phrase with a passion, but it is what it is. VVD walked off, so hopefully looking at a few weeks at most. Klopp said we'll have to wait and see with Thiago.

Surprised that Thiago managed to play on after the horror tackle, I’m sure he’d have asked to come off if we had subs left but played though the pain.Still managed to pick out a beauty of a pass for the should be winning goal.

Sums him up as a player really, absolute warrior on the pitch as well as being a magnificent player.

Every time we get a taste of him being a Liverpool player it gets ripped away from us almost immediately. Massive loss for us as is VVD for obvious reasons.

We have ditched the high line and play more a mid block line which suits us better. The goalkeeper is instructed to play the ball long with no build up.

@_pauljoyce

Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara have gone for scans on suspected knee injuries following the incidents involving Jordan Pickford and Richarlison.

We can only hope and pray now.

posted on 17/10/20

Depending on the extent of Thiago's injury we may well see Fabinho in defence a fair bit more.

posted on 17/10/20

I don't think its that serious for both players. VVD was walking fine and will probably be out for 2 weeks while Thiago seems a precaution.

posted on 17/10/20

Honestly think both VVD and Mane offsides are the wrong decision, still human error with VAR, just it's from someone drawing lines on a computer instead of the linesman missing it.
