Admittedly that's assuming two signing that are nothing more than speculation right now but it's a valid point - that would be real depth.

I think he could be useful when we push up and try to win the ball high up the pitch. His tackling can become important in this. Too many times players run through our midfield with no problem.

Hard worker, warrior spirit, reliable.

Even if he's not the best technical player we ever have, I'm really quite pleased with this signing. I always love Japanese players.

That's not bad really

Interestingly in Klopp's interview he said he's been on Klopp's list for years as a potential signing.

Speaks better English than I thought he did. That’s definitely going to help in understanding Klopps instructions and settling into the club and city.

I’m just glad and relieved we’ve finally got a no.6 in the club with a bit of experience.

Plus another national team captain, which is pleasing to see

"Yeah, I try to have good communication with the defenders and I always try to scan where opponents stand and try to get them. I think that's my job."

Our defensive problems will be fixed if he can do the above things at a reasonable level.
