Liverpool's net spend in this time is over £200m less than Spurs, they've spent less than West Ham...

Across this period, Liverpool won a Premier League title, 1 FA Cup, 2 League Cups and reached a Champions League final.

They won that Premier League title, having made a net PROFIT of £4.4m on transfers across that season.

Even if they do sign Isak, they are likely to make at least £130m from the sales of Diaz, Nunez and Elliot.

Don't be angry, it's not unfair. Liverpool are just smarter than your club.

I still want £75m for Diaz and the club should still be holding out for that. We know Bayern are loaded and desperate for attackers, they will crack I reckon.

Or at least £70m plus a sell on clause i've seen mooted too, which could out well for us as I could definitely see him moving on to Saudi in 2-3 years time for a fairly big fee.

We're a smart run club. I think everyone agrees.

Where the disagreements usually stem from is when the club didn't take the risks when maybe we should have. Does it work in the end? Usually yes, because we're still smart in the end.

Chris Wetherspoon (Football finance writer for the Athletic) says that under Uefa rules, player sales between related parties- which Newcastle and Al Hilal are- have to be measured at zero profit, just as Allan Saint Maximin's move to Al Ahli in July 2023 was.

Isak could sold to Al Hilal for £150m and Newcastle would enjoy the cash, but under Uefa rules, they'd be disallowed from booking any profit. Thus doing nothing to improve their ability to remain compliant on the European stage.

The wages would be off the books though...as would be the amorticised transfer payments Newcastle would've made to Sociedad

Bookies make us favourite for the league and 2nd favourite for the CL.

Joining Liverpool atm means a genuine and serious chance of picking up multiple leagues and CLs.

There will be more pressure on us though. People are saying ridiculous things like they must win the quad after spending so much but give me 21 next summer and I will be over the moon.

The wages impact is very small in comparison, and they get that selling to us too.

They would be missing out on being able to realise an £100m profit immediately by selling to us (or anyone else outside Saudi). For a club like Newcastle who are struggling with PSR, that has absolutely huge impacts.

Not to mention going out in pens to arguably the best team in world football.

The club are obviously well aware we need more strength, which is why they’re doing what they’re doing.

Not really. He was using the players he was given, and it was blatantly obvious he wasn’t willing to trust quite a few of them in the starting lineup. Which is why we’re buying so many players now.

He’s doesn’t need to learn, he already knew.

Fair, and I thought Slot quite well in the cups for what its worth.

We did really well to make it to the Carabao final considering the amount we had to rotate first half of the season. The team completely didn't turn up in the final, I don't think that's on him.

Likewise the team he picked against Plymouth should easily have got the job done, a lot of them put in their worst performances for the club.

PSG were a lot better than us across the tie and are the best team in Europe and were in their best ever form, we took them all the way which is a good effort in hindsight.

Tactically there is very little he gets wrong and I would have done differently personally, so there are very few what ifs. He tries changing it up system wise and personnel wise when it's obvious it's not working. I think I actually prefer him to Klopp in that regard, who at times was too stubborn in sticking to plan A.
