think city gave it a thought about guehi too so i wouldnt fack about too much tbh we need him, they dont wanna lose for free so could push it but it wouldnt be worth it. 40m is good going for them, he'd be free to sign a contract for anyone in 6 months?
40m to get him now when we need him and no doubt theres a lot of interest and even more so if hes free that will offer bigger wages etc get it sewn up
i really like the midget as a player.

This is football at its best…..
Grimsby Town owner Jason Stockwood has revealed that Manchester United staff enquired as to where the manager’s dressing room would be at the 9,000-seater Blundell Park ahead of the team’s Carabao Cup game on Wednesday night — with Stockwood joking that his own manager David Artell might be likely to get changed in his car than have a personal changing room.
During an extended conversation with The Athletic FC podcast on Thursday, Stockwood said: “I’ll tell you one funny quick thing. With Manchester United coming to town, they sent us almost a rider for the manager and it was like, where’s the manager’s changing room? And I was like, f***ing hell, the manager’s changing room? For us, it is the back of his car.
“The manager has a changing room at Man United? I thought that was quite amusing. They clearly didn’t know what they were coming into. When the players came off the bus and onto the pitch, I stood around and the United players did not look like they were up for it. It was all the cliches."

[🚨] BREAKING: Cody Gakpo is on the verge of signing a new contract at Liverpool.
[@RikElfrink]
nice, so we get him til hes 31/32? wonder if we'll be more savvy going forward with contracts. Losing players like Konate and Trent on frees entering their primes will sting.

Don’t think it’s anything to do with being savvy. Trent was never going to sign a contract and Konate may be going down the same route. Not much you can do if they decide they’re leaving.

Gakpo’s playing ok. By this logic, Konate should have accepted a bag of Haribo’s.

well not at the end but igakpos been here 2 years?
we act sooner and tie them down for their prime years and we have less of them in positions to leave in their prime for free. And if gakpos turning down a new contract 2 years into his 5/;6 year contract we have 3 years to find a replacement and sell him.
Using figures provided by Transfermarkt, here’s the full breakdown of what each Premier League squad cost to assemble.
1. Chelsea – €1.27billion
2. Manchester United – €1.23billion
3. Manchester City – €1.07billion
4. Arsenal – €979.3million
5. Liverpool – €866.63million
6. Tottenham – €842.2million
7. Newcastle United – €685.55million
8. West Ham United – €451.11million
9. Brighton – €445.3million
10. Nottingham Forest – €442.25million
11. Aston Villa – €402.4million
12. Bournemouth – €382.07million
13. Brentford – €346.55million
14. Wolves – €341.65million
15. Everton – €340.52million
16. Leeds United – €274.56million
17. Burnley – €259.69million
18. Crystal Palace – €248.54million
19. Fulham – €239.35million
20. Sunderland – €191.23million
