No doubt net spend is nonsense to the clubs as they have to amortise and make additional payments, but to a regular football fan who has no access to that info then net spend is a useful barometer for gauging what clubs are spending.

Yes it’s a useful barometer to make something up when you freely admit you don’t have the information. Another good post.

You can also pluck their transfer window spend out of another website's ass hole, and you could actually calculate a rough estimate of the what a club spent on transfer and agent fees. It's not rocket sconce.

I don’t really see the problem with using net spend when used in an informal discussion about what clubs are spending. I doubt there are many people who use it as a definitive guide on what clubs are spending overall on players, at least beyond trying to point score on social media. If we had to use the actual overall figure when discussing transfers, then there would be no discussions because none of have access to them.

ofcourse its useful in a way but sure it doesnt tell the whole picture, if one clubs spends 500mil and sells nobody thats obviously not the same as another spending 500 but selling 250mil worth

£500m over 5 years is £100m per annum...which gives us 5 years of wumming material so obviously it's the more correct way to speak about transfers

Loved that from Mo. Think it was Nunez and not Trent. He got on really well with them. He has lost a few of his close mates including Elliott and Tsimikas.
