I think that if used in the right system Walcott would be a lethal striker. He is actually quite an accomplished finisher these days.
Walcott is in the top 5 for goals and assists in the last few years I believe.
Anyone who wouldn't take him must have a pretty awesome squad.
He shouldn't be being compared to Sterling or Januzaj though considering he has 6 years on them and is an experienced international.
No one compared them, except to say that what someone are saying about Sterling is what some people said about Walcott a few years ago.
Walcott would probably improve United now, but if we were going to buy a right winger there's plenty of other players I would want instead of him.
I think he suits Arsenal, but I'm not he would suit United.
Sterling is what some people said about Walcott a few years ago.
Could Walcott play 5 positions? LW-AM-RW-SS-RB
Hilarious some on here think sterling doesnt have a good brain
Just found this Eden Hazard (132)(32 starts) dribbled past the most players in the PL. Luis Suarez (93)(33 starts) dribbled past the 2nd most and Raheem Sterling (92)(24 starts) was 3rd.
Not to shabby

Absolutely spot on. Walcott couldn't play at the tip of the diamond, for instance if his life depended on it. Sterling's versatility is another advantage he has over other players deemed similar to him.
Only people with little football sense would compare a young Walcott with a young Sterling.
Walcott was lightning quick with an eye for goal, often played as a striker and that was seen as his primary position. When he first came on the scene he looked like a new Michael Owen.
Only when Wenger decided he was a winger did people start questioning his football brain.
There is no evidence that Sterling doesn't have a football brain. The only people claiming it are people without a football brain.
"Walcott would probably improve United now"
huge understatement there
probably? really??

That wasn't actually what was said.
However, it's good to know that if someone disagrees with you, you will regard that as being because you know more than them.

Probably, likely... whatever - I didn't realise that comment would be fiercely analysed!
Depending on what formation we're playing, I might not even start him.
I just don't rate him that highly.
It's difficult to change the perception of players. Walcott, in my opinion, does not even play on the wing. Far more of a wing forward/outside right SS for me, but that's borderline semantics.
I don't think he is most gifted passer of the ball but as I said his shot selection now has improved and there is no doubting that he contributes massively.
The reason he is so important to Arsenal is because they lack pace elsewhere in the squad but I would have him and I feel he fits modern day systems really well.
Robbing_Hoody - Here, have some goals. You don't have to work for them. They're a gift. That's what we do now. (U6374)
Fair dos.
It happens with managers too - sometimes people just don't fancy a player. Difficult to explain.
Although everything I have said is with the appreciation that I don't watch him live much.

He definitely would. He's been miles ahead of any of our wingers for the last 2 seasons.
I think Walcott is best in a three man attack, he is better by far than both Januzaj and Sterling at the moment and would fit into most top sides, people under-rate him big time. He has added a lot more to his game.
How do people know if Walcott can or cannot play in the tip of a diamond formation?
No one knew Sterling could.
Positions are just what's on paper really. Players roam nowadays.
Sterling's basically a forward.
because sterling has different qualities
What qualities are these? The guy's primarily a speedster.
I'm not saying he's a headless chicken. But let's not pretend he's this skilful playmaker who's pulling the threads.
His movement between the lines and off the last man are superb. His shot passing is excellent as is the weight of his passes.
If you think he is primarlily a speedster I'd have to disagree. In fact I regard it as a bit of an ignorant statement tbh.
You think they are the same because they are both black and fast
Thats not a slate on walcott, there just better abit different

Oh no. The guy can play a little. And I've seen him thread little subtle through balls in this season.
But the way Ilori put that one would think Sterling was this maestro.
Maybe I got the wrong impression.

Very good player, no doubt.
Where do you think Liverpool need strengthening? I would imagine your midfield and defence, no?
Rodgers has shown he can build a system and get the best out the players there.
Bar Sturridge though. I can't think of an outstanding signing he's made.
