They took the fine handed to them by the FFP AND THREW IT ON THE GROUND!!!

I agree, but were is all this spending going to end, it cannot be good for the game in the long run, with the ever increasing wages and transfer fees.
Just gives Chelsea more money to spend
I think many have thought Chelsea will be getting £40 - £50m in cash upfront... this is unlikely to be the case considering the recent findings v PSG by the FFP regulations and the size of the fee!
Even £40m for Luiz is high, thereby this is likely to be a premium based on the fee being paid via instalments. £8-£10m a year.
This would be easier for PSG to absorb into their accounts v a large hit of the total sum.
Bad news for Chelsea is clubs think they have cash but in a hole in their pocket now.
The fine was put in place to do nothing more than line a corrupt governing bodies pockets!

FFP only looks at the profit and loss account, how PSG pay for it is irrelevant to te break even part of it.
In terms of the additional sanction, I'm pretty sure that is based on overall cost.
They can pay the fines and carry on as usual.. might've been different if they had the balls to ban then from the CL.

Yeah they look at it year on year..
If they had a £30m outgoing in one year it would be more if a hindrance than £10m a year for four years.
That doesn't matter red, you are thinking of te balance sheet. Any transfer fee is amortised over the length of the contract for the profit and loss, as it is the asset depreciating.
If they buy Luiz for 40 million on a four year contract, it will be a 10 million loss every year for four years regardless of how they pay for it.
£40m is still a remarkable figure..
what are they smoking there at the Parc de Prince
