pretty pointless article to be honest.
1. it is based on nothing but rumour
2. ancellotti and LVG were clearly unrealistic, so might as well be removed from the list.
3. That leaves FDB and Poch, of whom Poch was the man chosen.
I really don't think we were ever in with a chance of Ancelotti, ever.
And I also believe that had we wanted De Boer, we would have got him. Don't think the club would decide against hiring their chosen manager just because he said in the press that he would love to manage us.
So I think Pochetino must be 1st or 2nd choice, depending on whether Van Gaal was in the frame.
I was a bit sceptical too, but the fans need to get behind him. Potentially a brilliant manager

Great minds and all that
The last paragraph was hardly pointless. It echo's the concerns of most Spurs fans I know. I am backing the guy and I hope he proves to be the one that ends the boring cycle of acquiring a new manager every 18 months.

The problem with Spurs for the last couple of seasons has been fans
--------
you should have ended it there mate.
everyone puts pressure on levy to sack the manager, and then when he does, we all turn around and say he should have been given time

I hate this kind of article.
"Plan D", articles like this just add to the pressure he is under. he will be put under loads of pressure by the media, without our fans having to point out that he was 4th choice for the job/shouldn't have the job.
I even read one idiot spurs fan last night describe the appointment as scandalous. who the faaack do we think we are? Juventus?
fack sake.
Rumours in the press are exactly that rumours. I do wish supporters would stop believing all the trash they read in the press or listening to on Talksport or watch on Skysport. It is just sensationalist garbage 95 per cent of the time.
They are no more in the know than your average supporter, who probably actually knows more.

Chronic, whether you hate this kind of article or not, it reflects what has been reported. I did not state that I agreed with the sentiments in the media, hence the question mark in the title.
However, my underlying message is that Levy seems to be taking another punt. His comments on Pochettino's appointment are similar to what he said about AVB and others!
I really hope it works and that Pochettino is a resounding success. But, less than 24 hours after his appointment I think it's acceptable to have a little debate about it.
Let's hope he can make the step up in the way that Rogers and Martinez have.
Rogers and Martinez have won nothing at their respective clubs, so nothing to match there. Sure they may have them punching above their weight, but football has a habit of kicking you just when you think you have cracked it. Don`t be surprised to see both these managers struggling next season. It`s the nature of the beast.
Every new manager is a gamble, even when we were linked with van Gaal there were major concerns about his renowned arrogance and lack of ability to deal with the media.
Rodgers and Martinez have done extremely well considering the financial strength of City, Chelsea, United and Arsenal. They may not have won trophies yet but the football they are playing is great to watch, just as it was with Saints last season.
Just give the guy a season and judge him after that.
Plan A : always waiting for Moyes to fail.
Plan B : would have far bigger suitors for him.
looklike told you it would be either de Boer or Pochettino.
And so it was.
Plan A: Louis van Gaal - Zero chance of getting him
Plan B: Carlo Ancelotti -
Plan C: Frank DeBoer - Outside chance

tbf the timing of the talks does tend to suggest Levy was waiting to see what happened with Ancelotti, just in case there was an outside chance.
It was never going to happen though, it was pretty much always between FdB and Pochettino. Either would be a gamble, but I would still have been happy with either choice
Rodgers has won nothing at Liverpool yet he is practically being canonized.
Pochettino turned things around at Southampton and he is already being put under the Spurs. fans microscope. Ironic, isn't it?
