Also, psychologically 'the latest' achievement mostly eclipses 'old achievement'. For eg when you had a kid (if you have had one), then that happiness/achievement probably eclipsed the happiness when you got married, even though when you had kid you didnt have huge reception as when you got married.

Sri Lanka have already won a one off test in England. Winning a series will make them happy but it will be nothing compared to winning the world cup. That's when the country stops.

When Pakistan became the first country to concur Africa, there was no mass celebration other than A14s house party

@lefty, in all honesty, I dont think the World outside sub-continet give 2 hoots about any cricket at all (the vast majority of them).

Not sur wabout reception and all that, but having a Kid eclipses everything I had ever done previously...and will ever do

Yes lefty, that is what i meant, psychologically I think the more recent sucess is the most important. Eg passing grade 10 eclipse the feelings of passing grade 9 and like that.
So, when SL win this test series, they will for few days forget every previous achievements..
And talking about test cricket it obviously eclipses most of their achievements so far and I dont see why arrogance should come into it.
Although , I concur most English commentators are, like Ravi shastri, arrogant bunch.

The sheer magnitude of SL wining the world cup would never be forgotton. Even after the victory, the players and fans will always see the WC win bettering everything else

Got to love the comms somewhat moaning about sledging. That might be a bit hypocritical if Anderson or Broad ever sledged.

Listening to Graeme Swann on TMS makes me laugh. He just called Sangakarra and Jayawardane pathetic because they had a little chirp at Root. Remarkable coming from Swann himself who confessed not too long ago he feels like killing teammates' family members when they drop a catch of his bowling.

Can't help but feel it's poor from England - Anderson's attitude in the previous innings was nothing short of ridiculous from constantly arguing with Bowden over silly wide calls and lbw appeals clearly missing leg but you won't hear Swann say a word about that.

What a poor shot from Joe Root.

This England team is definitely not upto the rigor of test matches at top level. Another KP and another Trott's level players are required if they seriously hope to compete against top side in the world.
May be time for England selectors to send scouts in South Africa.

The Sledging made me laugh, the commentators were moaning about it. It wasnt exactly Clarke esc just a friendly chat lol.

Anyway its worked and it made Root play a few false shots before getting out eventually.

GAME ON!

it was pretty close Kash but it looked like it was ok by about 1mm

It didn't help with the crease line being bent. I think that was a 50/50 call.

True they should really paint the lines after each break.

If it's uncertain it should stay with the bowler. Batsmen on more than one occasion get the benefit of the doubt when it's a very tight run out so it should be the same for a bowler when bowling.

real share our top order were so utterly pathetic last night, otherwise we'd have given ourselves a great chance.

40 overs left and the new ball arriving soon, can't see a draw now.
