Jimbo, you should know by now that any sort of criticism against the Mickey Mousers on here is greeted with an outpouring of absolute outrage by the many plastics who infest the Spurs board.

They can not accept any sort of criticism, whether justified or not (most of it usually is), they have had years of being spoon fed praise and feel good nonsense by the Liverpool loving media, any sort of criticism is completely foreign to them, hence the outrage on here.

Well said. When you listen to all the booooolllllocs Lawro, Hanson, etc spout without any come back against them, a little bit of an opposite viewpoint does not really go amiss. Gerrard has been getting away with sub-standard England performances for far too long, and nobody has the balllllls to say so. They are all too busy creaming themselves over his one 30 yard pass that hits the target out of the hundreds that don`t.

I see England are going with youth tomorrow night, Frankie Lampard captain. This is definitely the way forward.

No, that doesn't make it factually incorrect. The only thing that is factually incorrect is your assumption that team achievements show how good an individual player is. It would be more factually correct, if that's what you're looking for, to compare individual achievements.

Medals aside, Paul Scholes was clearly a better player than Gerrard, who is only elevated to superstatus by a media that creams itself over everything he does. Scholsey all day long was far, far better.

Scholes has suddenly went from a very good underrated player in his playing time to the best English player in the last twenty years since he's retired. Despite never really performing for Wngland, whilst Gerrard was England's best player at the previous two competitions to this one.

Who knows maybe when Gerrard retires he'll get the credit he deserves.

When Scholes was in his prime, if you asked people who were the top 5 midfielders in the world at the time, he would have never made the list. Now he's apparently better than all of the midfielders ever other than Zidane. Weird that.

And he was as good as Gerrard, just a generation older.
