"but giving blood is a whole other sacrifice"
Only of time (30 mins end to end at the right places) .
Repeatedly having tattoos done reduces the times you can give blood (AFAIK if in the period between donations then you get declined) .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time is of far more value to footballers than money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.
Ronaldo does a lot of awesome things that get very little press in this country.
A lot of footballers do. I.e. Drogbas hospitals and Bellamys football academy's in Africa
It's a shame it's not better publicised. It's almost as if the media want us to have a dislike of footballers...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a friend who plays PL football who I've known since being at nursery and he does charity or community work at least twice a week for an afternoon. You don't see it in the news though.
As far as I am aware the same goes for almost all professional footballers.
Good news doesn't sell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who is it ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plays for Norwich, not a household name but I won't say who it is though.

Busby I think some of its because of the rivalries too.. I know a builder who did some work on glen johnsons house, and apparently he's always got baines over, they are really good mates.
But it's not publicised presumably to ensure a heated rivalry with Everton as it's the derbies and rivalries that make the prem competitive.
I imagine that's why we hear little endearing news about footballers too. It wouldn't do for united fans.would have respect for the Liverpool players and vice versa
"as if Busby has friends"
Is he doing the proverbial "my mate has a problem ..." ??
We have a Man Utd supporting Norwich player in our midst.
Personally I don't like tattoos, I find them superficial (most of the time) and unnecessary.

Yeah that's very true. I think Rio was shopping with Berkovic when caught missing his drugs test.
Also, I remember seeing RVP our with Joe Hart on X Factor once.
Tim Howards look awesome. Never know he had any.
I personally have a tattoo addiction and I love the meaning behind each individuals tattoo!
I have tattoos and a meaning for each one
*and that was after a Manc Derby
they all look stupid.
prefer ronaldo's clean look.
Tattoos remind me a bit of smoking, has that air of immature "coolness" that is similar to the psychological reasons behind why teenage girls love one direction
There are barely any footballers with no tattoos
1. Becks,
2. Podolski's is rubbish ? Aaron Ramsey has a weird one
3. Comes from too much money and not enough time to spend it
4. I have an almost completed sleeve on my right arm, it's all a variation of different wording and symbols that have meaning, need to complete my forearm, quite a but if Gaelic inscription

Meireles' look horrible
The thought of Joe Hart asking RVP to come to watch X-factor with him makes me laugh. And shudder.
I went on a date with a girl recently who had a sleeve tattoo. Put me right off. She had her mum and dads names on it and even West Ham written in between pictures of marlyn munroe and a gorgoyl.
I did a recruitment fair with my work recently. i work for one of the bog 4 so typically the people that work their are ex public schoolboys with big floppy hair. A man came to our stand and had tattoo's all over his neck. When he walekd away the Director said 'that is the opposite of what we are looking for'.
I later found out that the guy was one of the best hackers in the business and we lost out on him for his tattoo's. Spoke to the guy a couple of weeks later nad he knew his tattoo's had put us off. He regrets having them done. Did it when he was 19 and hates them now.
I like my body and do not need to add ink to make it look better
i love them....and wld be covered in them if i cld afford it....another downside of its popularity....
Comes down to personal preference, my tattoos are hidden from my day to day work. So no one at work knows
Yeah, tattoos certainly don't make girls more attractive for me
I like my body and do not need to add ink to make it look better

Here's something I've always wondered about, can you get sunburnt on your tattoos of does it act as a barrier against the sun?
Cheryls tattoo certainley makes her less attractive!
