Wake them to tell them I've found a clueless boffin? I think that news can wait until the morning Spart. What I want to know is, if the moon has a gravitational effect on the earth and vice versa, how do they each know that the other one is there?

Well if you assume there is such a thing as gravity and that the gravity is a consequence of its mass we can use Newtonian physics to explain that. The force between any two objects = Gm1m2/r. However we then say what is mass. It is actually the resistance to movement. Everything without mass moves at C. Everything with mass moves at less than C. Mass and energy which has no mass are interchageable. As I say I aint a physicist and things are more complex the more you look at them but they still don't follow the laws of Sandra Bullock.

Not sure I've seen Vidal referred to as Lav before. I'm fairly sure 666 will enjoy using his nemesis's new name to fill effect.

Spart

All you have done is quote a formula which you clearly had to look up. You still haven't explained how it works or how one mass knows another mass is in the vicinity.

If I were to take a running jump, and land in and in a different place, have I moved at all, or is it just the earth spinning beneath me creating the illusion of movement?

Also, as Granny always said, if you're struggling with anything, go the lav for a few minutes and you'll soon be straightened out.

Granny was right, Vidal, as Grannies always are. And being in yet another flare-up of UC at the moment, I now know everything about everything. Thank you. xx

I didn't have to look up the formula as I come from an age when they didn't spoon feed you information you had to learn it.

It is all relative Vidal and momentum is always conserved. Work it out yourself from that.

What about Conor Coady at Liverpool? Spent most of last season on loan at Sheff Utd... you got any analysis

Sadly my analysis of football has plummeted to knowledge of my family only: 6 y o will make a good holding MF but too small to play this season, 4 y o will be a good replacement for Martin but attitude and violent temper need working on 2 Wellies' passing game is on fire but a niggling knee injury and fitness levels not lasting beyond 15 mins would mean not quite ready for the start of the season.

Agree with everything everyone else said
