I would j!zz in my pants if we signed Di Maria.
He is gagging to do that which is leading to overpaying massively
Don't really buy it tbh. At the moment LVG seems intent on a 352, which won't really accomodate Di Maria. With this system we already have 4 wide players, 2 of which are adequate WB's, the other 2 being completely redundant. I can't see us going for Di Maria now unless we are changing the system, which at the moment doesn't look likely, seeing as we bid for Vermaelen this week.

We need a cb regardless of formation, that's a given.
As for adm, if this is true were over paying by a solid 25 mil for a player of his talent.
How do Madrid get get so much for their second hand goods we could learn something.
Don't want him. Good player but would be a luxury plus doesn't fit in LVG's system plus he'd only be coming because he was pushed out at real and PSG can't afford him. No thanks.
Spend it on a world class cm and CB for gods sake

By all accounts lvg's favoured system is 4-2-3-1.
We just don't have the players to accommodate it.
You know, the fact that we don't need di Maria as he will not fit in the current system and also he is not a central midfielder or a centre-back, convinces me that we will indeed pursue all our energy in the remaining 3 weeks to buy him.
Seriously, a quality centre-back and a central midfielder surely is not the world's most difficult thing to buy...

Well we've been saying the same thing about cb for roughly about six years now.
For once I agree with Stretty. 352 is a temporary formation while the squad is imbalanced. Buying Di Maria would make 433 more viable. It would also probably mean we would need just one CB, rather than two.
Maybe my mate was right about us unveiling players on Tuesday at the REUNITE event.
LVG has gone for 3 5 2 because of the strengths in the squad ie Rooney RVP and mata. He is not going to pursue a winger just to drop one of our best and most valuable 3 players.
Hope that's Euros, would question the sanity of anyone paying £55m for him
It's a load of nonsense. No chance we're paying £55m for anyone other than possibly to get Ronaldo back if the opportunity ever presented itself, which it most likely won't.
£55m for Di Maria is stupid money. He's a good player don't get me wrong, but that kind of money is reserved for Top drawer strikers etc.
Robben was integral for Holland, I can see us using Di Maria the same way.
At points this season you will need to switch it up. I dont think you will use the back 3 all season. You dont have any decent wingers, do you? Sign him up Maria. Who cares about CM and DM.
Yeah let's spend £55m on a super sub.
We would have great options for 433 aswell:
Januzaj---Rooney---Di Maria
Obviously with RVP, Welbeck, Hernandez and Young to come in.
SE85
I think 352 was as much about lack of quality wingers as accommodating that trident. And it's not out of the question that Rooney play inside left in a lopsided 433
Rooney is totally wasted out on the left. It's been tried About 30-40 times, maybe more, and it has never worked.
Wish we'd stop playing players out of position to accommodate others.
Leave Rooney and RVP upfront. Play Mata in behind them. And let's get somebody to play CM, CB and RWB.
Di Maria would be a luxury buy and quite frankly for that price.....I'd pass.
Whilst I agree we may switch to 433 mid match if required, 352 will be the default system which is why this is the only system used pre season.
352 or 433 we won't be getting di Maria
It's a lot of money for a player, is he worth it?
Rooney on the wing is a waste. As a narrow inside forward à la David Villa / Pedro is another matter in my view.
Also, with injuries, rotation etc he'd be competing for the central spot. When one of Rooney and RVP is unavailable, being wedded to a system designed to utilize both of them becomes a disadvantage.
