That's a blatant push by Trippier, problem with this formation is that you don't stretch teams with it it's so compact and central unless the wingbacks push high up the pitch.

The mismanagement of transfers has been absolutely shocking

This system doesn't work because it means no wingplay, no overlapping, and our CM simply isn't strong enough to compensate.
Take RVP and Young off for Adnan and Anderson. Blackett to LB Adnan RM Di Maria LM Mata behind Rooney and Fletcher and Ando in the middle.
Give Fletch 10 minutes to actually do something. If he doesn't take him off too.
If they carry on doing what they did at the end, then fine, but they have to up tempo.
But it looks like the physical battle is having an impact, and cos they are not showing composure on the ball, we can't pass them to death.
Di Maria has done fine... Mata needs to step up and take control...
