Wassa, Eustace was listening to the talk-in as he was tweeting Owen Bradly at the time (about Ramage persistently getting his age wrong).

Makes you wonder how many players/staff also listen?

Even the management?

Interesting you should say that Ramsfanbaz now that I'm at Ipswich I can reveal that I am in real life actually Conor Sammon. It's been hurtful at times for me on this forum but in the end I learned to accept that like Billy Davies said everyone's a keyboard warrior and I know in my heart of hearts that I am better than Chris Martin and that's what's most important.

Had SM stuck with 2 up front last year I would have been the difference but c'est la vie, quite liking Ipswich now.

You are definitely more prolific in front of goal than Leon Best.

Was only thinking of you earlier Conor. Pure man-paste

Thank you Spart for your kind words and yes Ramsfanbaz I have received that compliment a lot, i put it down to a lot of ginger and cinnamon in my diet. Doesn't seem to do much for my hair though.

Conor/2W - your outing as a pro footballer has finally given me the confidence to reveal my own true identity. Yes I'm Larry. Larry Lloyd.

You don't know what a burden it's been for me all these years. Having to suppress my feelings for the mighty Rams everywhere but this board and this persona. The truth is the European medals I won with that shambles down the road have been like a dagger to my heart. And I only did the Nottingham radio gig for the money. I feel so ashamed, yet also strangely liberated now it's finally out.

A sobering thought...while we mull over the possibilities of promotion to the Promised Land, we find the three relegation positions there currently occupied by:

Leicester, QPR & Burnley...it's tough at the top table.

Larry I'm glad that you hav had the courage to come forward I hope this is a period of healing for you and you can begin to come to terms with your demons and your past, being a professional footballer I know all too well your pain.

I had people kicking and screaming for me to stay at Derby, my heart will only ever be there but I was weak and sought comfort in the arms of another, I hope and pray for forgiveness.

Interesting indeed Moj, three different approaches 1) spend big then don't spend big for one season only and pretend you're a working class hero of a club 2) Cheat 3) Become genuine working class heroes rewarded with a spell in a league that is barring the odd upset here and there fixed beyond all measure.

That said if Burnley keep their head and don't go foolish they'll have taken a few punches but be ready to come back fighting. Leicester and QPR not so much.

It's a paradox wanting to win the league but being disgusted at where it will take us.

Breakaway League now please

You can say crap

2 wellies, that's my opinion too.

I want derby to win the championship, or at least get promoted. But then I don't want to join a division where a season of stress, culminating in finishing 17th would be seen as a success.

Having said that, look at southampton, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to emulate their accomplishment, similar sized club, stadium, fanbase, academy etc

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as welcome to Anfield though does it.

I think there should be some people's trophy work out a set of criteria for a club that has got the highest in the league with sellingb out the least:

Made their own wealth.
Not gone into stupid debt.
Sensible wage bill.
Not been reliant on the money from some wealthy tyrant tw.t.
Not been reliant on TV rights money.

Something along those lines then call it the people's trophy, we'll all chip in for a fancy cup and then hand it over to the team that has done the best without being one of the elite or spending like they were one of the elite.

The winner of the People's Trophy is entitled to a victory parade in their hometown, it is handed over to them not by some tw.ts from the FA and their corporate sponsors but by a set of fans chosen by the supporters of that club.

It becomes the new goal of the Premiership, not to buy a title but to be recognised by football fans the land over as the team that did the best without cheating.

and entry into the Champions league ?

The People's Champions League Jacko

Which would be the winner of the people's trophy playing the winners only from rest of continent for another fancy cup and then culminating in a global knockout competition Europe v North America; South America v Asia/ Africa * and then the winners going forward for the grand title of the People's Club of the World.

There will be no sponsors, no commerical breaks, the games will be broadcast for free to all people, no dignitaries, no celebrities just football and her fans and a passion that no man can buy.

* Asia and Africa will have already played off unless they're competitive then we'll have to invent another continent - possibly Derbyshire.

Has derby got a wealthy owner?

posted on 4/11/14

We have a syndicate of very wealthy owners who put very little into the club and hope to get a lot out. Any success we have is despite our owners not because of them.

Our owner is a local lifelong fan but is keeping it real and says de doesnt want boom and bust like brighton and bournemouth are heading for!

To be fair nearly every championship club is getting subsidised by wealthy owners...and the footballing playing field has never been level with big city clubs getting bigger crowds always able to spend more on players and wages

It's scale though isn't it Worksop, Brian Clough took on the establishment albeit with a moderate amount of investment but proved that an unfashionable provinical team could compete.

Now with TV rights you have the same rich club poor club story but on a multi-national level. The top clubs have near enough 3 teams of superstars, the wealth is so overly concentrated it is absurd, the mid to lower level teams have to pay extortionate fees for average players.

The footballing playing field has never been level but it has never been so skewed towards the rich c.nts as it is now. Which is why I think we should be making moves on a league that if it isn't level is at least fair. Football has become a trophy sport where the obscenely rich instead of hunting for tigers on top of an elephant now sit around and sponsor a football team to see if their little project can get one over their rich friends.

You're right it isn't level, but it could be, it just needs that forgotten man or woman or child of football, the fan to take it back.

Everton made a profit this year but their revenue from gate receipts (about £22M) was not much higher than ours. It was the £80M they received from the TV that is the difference. The income disparity between the Premiership and Championship is getting towards ridiculous proportions.

I said tother week we should break away and form our own league and leave the prem lg to rot!

We could get our own tv deal with say bt sport and show the 3 leagues live..fa cup ..league cup etc...plenty a live games with the money spread across the 3 leagues

Murdoch and the prem league would be squirming if we did this..and sky subs would dissapear with only 2 /3live games a week

They need us...not us needing them!
