When will our luck run out?

Every team we've put out this season has had more than enough to beat what they are put in front of.
-------
It's not though, get real. How many top players do we really have ? To many United fans with heads in the sand believing we are better than we are. We have been undergoing a demise for several seasons despite winning the league in SAF's last season. Never adequately replaced, means, Scholes, Giggs with quality and now Rio,Vidic too !!

Have to agree with you there Robb.

A lot of Managers would snap there hands off for the squad that van Gaal was given over Moyes.

Good to see in this thread, not everyone bowing down to the 'greatness' of van Gaal.

Barely injured at all.

Shaw 3 games?
Falcao 2?
Herrera 1? Half a game?
Rojo yet to miss a game until now.
Has Blind been injured?

Moyes suffered injuries too. He didn't have the luxury of having these new players injured on top of his squad.

An improvement on 7th would not be failure considering the hand LvG was dealt. A far worse one than Moyes
---------------------------------------------------------------

Don't be stupid.

Moyes -

Past it Rio, Evra, Vidic with Cleverley, Carrick and Fletcher as his midfield. Young and Valencia on the wings. RVP missing lots of the season with no world class replacement at #9. Also a far better top 4 than this season.

LVG -

Shaw, Hererra, Rojo, Blind, Falcao and Di Maria all signed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't be stupid, champions inherited after dominating the league.

LvG has introduced 6 new players to the first team, has seen 10 depart including 3 of the back 4 and has had to deal with injuries and not had a settled back line.

We have gone toe to toe with the best the league has to offer and not been outclassed unlike last season when teams were handing us footballing lessons.

For some reason you think spending money guarantees instant success without looking at the whole picture. That is really stupid.

I can be stupid too, Moyes - 70m plus title winning squad, finished 7th

Fellaini a Moyes signing could prove to be our most important player this season.

But in the whole it is madness to compare the two managers because we will never know what Moyes would have done with the same budget as LVG.

Here's a point though :

Arsenal always drop points when they have an injury crisis and win when they have their better players back.

Moyes suffered from incompetence. Actually Utd suffered from Moyes' incompetence.

You guys really need to get over this. If Moyes was competent he would still be Utd manager.

You need to move on

Exactly. Last season Rafael, Carrick, RVP, Jones and Smalling were injured for lots of the season.

Injuries happen and fair enough. But if Moyes wasn't allowed that as an excuse then LVG certainly can't with what he's spent.

No-one has yet shown me a teamsheet this season that injuries made look sub-par.

That's harsh.

We all know that new players need at least one season to get bedded in.

No one has ever had a great squad that can handle injuries.

Key players out = draws and defeats.

Moyes had issues that made his job harder, of course. Be he still didn't do well enough and never really looked like he would.

LVG has had issues that have made his job harder but still hasn't done good enough so far. Whether he looks like he will do remains to be seen. But I think there's more chance of him rebuilding United into a top side than Moyes ever would have.

Time will tell. Moyes and LVG were brought into do two different jobs and so direct comparisons are difficult to make.

And we can only speculate what LVG would have done coming into replace Fergie and how Moyes would have done doing what LVG has had to do.

Swansea
Everton
Burnley
-----------------------------------------

With what we had out at home to Swansea we shouldn't have lost.

Against Burnley we had Di Maria, Mata, Rooney and RVP and didn't score a single goal against the worst team in the league.

Everton? Seriously? Look at that line up again.

Nope, stating facts. We were hugely lucky not to get smashed yesterday. The ref was the only reason.

Moyes was out of his depth but was dealt a bad hand without a doubt with regard to an awful transfer window and Gill going too. It didn't help that senior players didn't seem to want to back him. Because of the size of our club, expectation and our trophy haul he paid the price. Many professionals in the game said he didn't get enough time. It's debatable.
IMO Fellaini and Mata were terrible buys, neither player what we required.
As for LVG shed loads spent, terrible injuries but he does seem to have direction and know exactly how he wants to go now having abandoned the awful 3-5-2 experiment. He also has a lot of excuses to what went wrong in games ! But we must be patient.
I hope to see a fit Falcao leading the line and Carrick and Herera in midfield.
Also hope to see the awful Valencia and Young sold asap !
