Absolute Disgrace

9 years? It wasn't even 9 months when United fans were flying banners over Old Trafford ffs

posted on 7/12/14

I don't agree with it, but I guess its nothing new to him, when he has been through bad patches before I'm sure he's endured worse, as will all managers.

Saying that, i'd take that sort of abuse for £8 million a year.

Clearly Arsenal fans are getting fed up with the club...it started a few seasons ago and is gaining momentum, the club is just stagnated...there is no change!

There is more money being pumped in but no changes? Who is to blame?

The owner.

Can't stand Wenger, never have even when we were successful, but that just leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Whilst he is taking the píss in his negligence, his arrogance and his all round demeanor, I'm not sure anyone in the game of football deserves that, least of all a man who, irregardless of what I think he could have done better when he was successful, has been a good thing for the club more readily than he's been bad.

Whoa...

Just keep smiling and thinking of the money, Arsene.

Hardly an embarrassment or a disgrace. Pretty much saying the emotions of many people on here... yet they've actually got the bol|ocks to say it away from the keyboard.

I completely understand their frustration. I wouldn't have done the same had i been there, but i fully understand why some people would.

I highly doubt Wenger spends his time reading JA606 or twitter, but if he does then he should be sacked on the spot.

What the fook did my comment have to do with Wenger reading JA606?

We should put pressure on him but not abuse him? Don't understand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
erm it's not hard to understand. You say Wenger's got to go without calling him a caaant etc.

comprende?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea but Wenger doesn't read these forums, nothing that is said on here really matters.

I don't understand how fans can pressure him into leaving without booing for him, chanting Wenger out, bringing anti Wenger banners to the stadium? Which is pretty much hounding him out, something he doesn't deserve.

That's not abuse, that's just expressing that you think his time is up

Why have you changed your stance? What for you is acceptable for fans to say/do?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still very different to up close personal abuse, my point still stands m7

Has Wenger handed in his notice yet? If not need to up the ante. Physical abuse required now.

posted on 7/12/14

Disgusting.

Lets just hope this video doesn't go viral, these people dont just shame Arsenal fans, they shame all football fans full stop. I don't want to be associated with people who act like this.

Managers know its part and parcel of the job and take it on the chin. They also get paid supremely well but that kind of behaviour is almost sub human, wouldnt wish it on any manager even Mourinho.

posted on 7/12/14

Perfectly understandable reaction. The fans have been frustrated for far too long and it's all boiling over. The board should have handled the Wenger issue a lot better than they did. The guy is way past his sell-by date and is now clearly confused and clueless. A decade after our last league title and we still don't have a decent team despite paying the most expensive tickets in the world and having one of the highest paid club managers in the world. Time to get rid. I will miss Wenger for the great days he gave us and I desperately wished he could listen to criticism and bring back the good old days but he has become too stubborn and must go, the sooner the better.

It's not abuse though, they booed him. They literally did what you said 2 weeks ago was acceptable, now you are saying it's a disgrace?

posted on 7/12/14

Hmm..
Tough one.
Fans have a right to express their opinion
You have booed players so I don't see why you would stop at managers.
What puzzles me though is how Piers Morgan can sit there now and claim this is disgusting and disgraceful. He mocks Wenger and the team throughout the year and whips up his few odd million followers into a frenzy, getting them to join his cause which I think is the right thing by the way but for him to act shocked at what's happened now is two faced and hypocritical. What did he expect?

"The fans have been frustrated for far too long and it's all boiling over."

Yep, coupled with the Wenger out banner, and the fact it comes from the away fans says so much.

It left a very sour taste in my mouth to watch it, but you can see this stuff was coming.

Whilst it is unsavoury and something none of us dreamt would end up happening even a few years back, a lot of this has been brought about, not only by by Wenger himself, but by the club for trying to keep him in some kind of critique free bubble, added to the growing disenfranchisement of many long time Gooners.

"Thank you for your interest in our affairs" ring any bells?

How about Wenger's little bombshells about, say, offering Diaby an extension whilst his spikiness over similarly badly timed themes at his expense - thinking his own contract extension being brought up last season at a moment that hardly suited him.

Fact is as the years have rolled by Wenger, the board, the players, the entire club has lost touch with the very people who put them where they are.

Namely, the fans.

Even the questions at the AGM are vetted beforehand.

It's a powder keg of frustration of their own making.

Don't complain then when it goes off in their faces.

I actually dislike ArsenalFanTV more than these guys in the video.

AFTV go into the disabled section, grab a couple of guys on day release and deliberately wind them up and set them off in an effort to sell more sh/tty polo shirts and scarves.

Not really Mr C, I've listened to podcasts with Piers and he's a great admirer of Wenger and has great respect for him. He doesn't want Wenger hounded out of the club, he just wants him to do the honorable thing and step down, which is what I think most of us want.

Personally I find the booing of Wenger pretty distasteful considering all he has done for us. On the other hand I don't think it's really a big deal. The guy is getting paid close to £8M a year to do a dreadful job and the worst thing that's happened to him is get booed by a few very angry fans? Some people need to get over themselves, it's not like they tied him up and forced him to watch his daughter getting ráped or something.

100% agree. I used to get a few laughs but now it is just beyond cringe. The 'argument' between Claude and that fúcking móng 'Ty' - wow. So embarrassing.

Get the feeling AFTV prefer it when we lose as it gets them more hits on YouTube.

posted on 7/12/14

True bats. It's not a big deal what's happened imo. Go up and down the league and there have been fans showing their displeasure at managers from every club. We've had it. Liverpool have it. Utd have had it. Spurs. West ham. List goes on. Difference is Wenger has had a lot of patience from the fans and this probably was coming .

Like which ones? The fans on AFTV I know are season's ticket holders. Most of the interviews take place on their way from matches whilst you are busy typing at JA606. You are not making any sense at all.

Fack me

So does being a season ticket holder make you a better fan? You'd fit in well on AFTV if you think that - those béllends on there think they are celebrities because they go to every match, and then leave it early just to be first in line to speak with Robbie.

How on earth is this relevant to anything I've said?
