Maybe it's got something to with the fact he played under Jewell at Wigan and last season.

He will still be earning a lot of money there - at least £15k pw.

You telling me he was wrong Wassa? Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes!

posted on 25/8/11

Sds he's bound to come back with excuses just like Tom Glick does.

If you have Paul Jewell as manager Ipswich must have more optimism than ambition.

Strider I know all about that and his association with Jewell, but I was having a chat with 1 of our members on here (a well known one) and he categorically said that Bullard would sign for a premiership team. He asked me who I would sign and I said Bullard, thats when he said he would go to a premier side, cause he would want premier league wages.

It was Wolves sorry, not Bolton. But I knew he was in talks with two in the Prem. (along with QPR).

Not sure if you're having a dig at me and if you are, why? No sensible person would pay Bullard prem wages in the championship, but Jewell... The man who's signings are the reason why Clough's had nowt to spend in recent windows!

What is your point Wassa? Should Clough be signing Bullard? Has Clough asked for Bullard? Should Glick be forcing Clough to buy players he may not want? Or haven't you really got a point and just wanna pop at me?

posted on 25/8/11

Nothing to do with Glick trying to force Clough to get players he may not want. I didn't say anything of the sort. Did you or did you not say Bullard would sign for a premiership team? I'm not having a pop at any one, just letting you know you can't always be right. At then end of the day, you do seem to back Tom Glick all the time. In your eyes Nigel is always wrong.

Who he signs for is irrelevant. Bullard is a crock, who's way past his best and a greedy crock to boot. If you seriously think signing this guy, with the wages he demands is a good idea you need your head checking.

Bolder it was just an example of player Mostyn was asking about. Thats all I gave him. I agree with you yes he is greedy, I also gave Derry as well

Surely Jewell signing Bullard for Ipswich on (perhaps) daft wages should be greeted with a sigh of relief, given what he helped 'achieve' for DCFC........will he throw money at the market to try and turn the East Anglian club into a Premiership team, running the risk of ruin? Rather them than us.

posted on 25/8/11

Oh right, fair enough. I don't remember the other thread.

What a pointless article Wassa. What's the point in having a go at Mostyn. I think a lot of people probably thought the same. Bullard is greedy and would have been after Prem wages whether actually in the Prem or not. If Jewell is daft enough to pay them, then so be it.

As someone else has already pointed out, Jewell frequently paid over the odds for players here and got us in to a right mess, see: Ellington, Varney, Carroll, Albrechtsen etc.

Pic who's having a go at Mostyn, what are you going on about. Like I have said on my above comment, Mostyn can't always be right. It's all right for Mostyn to pull every one up when they make a mistake, I'm just returning the favour for a change. Is that ok with you. Me and Mostyn are friends, there is no picking on anyone going on. This forum is all about voicing our own views and debating other peoples views this what is going on here nothing else, so wind your neck in! You don't know, he might be right about Glick bringing Waghorne in, then it will be me who's wrong, eating humble pie!

Ipswich would have been better signing a decent goalkeeper, given that they've conceeded 12 goals in 2 games!!!

posted on 25/8/11

Aj they could do with a better defence as well. Nigel Clough must have a good eye for a player cause we haven't conceded a goal since Birmingham

Should say in the league, before any come backs

Wassa,

If you ask me, Bullard just likes being a big fish in a small pond. Hardly had an array of quality Football Clubs in his portfolio has he.?

posted on 25/8/11

Aj we all know Derby County wont be signing players of the like of Jimmy Bullard, so if I get any more come backs saying I want him, I don't it was just an example for Mostyn. Like I said above I also said Derry, I hope that clears that up. Aj yes he is just like a big fish in a small pond. Good luck to him at Ipswich, lets just hope he scores a lot of goals for them, cause like you said, they are conceding a lot!!

Finally to members, can't we all get a sense of humour instead of arguing over trivial things that don't matter. This is a thread for all the happy people so if anyone wants to get anything of their chest do it on here, cause I have already got 3 1star ratings

okay, so you're not having a go. But I dont think I'm wrong, Bullard has a superiority complex and would never come somewhere here and I wouldnt want us to bend to HIS wage demands!

But back to the origins of this article. We spoke about Nigel wanting a midfielder and your belief that Glick wont let him have one. I asked you a few times, cos I cannot think of any, do you think this midfielder actually exists? Who do you think it would be?

What I was asking was which midfielder do you think Derby should be going for (that Nigel wants but Glick wont let him have)? You said Bullard and Derry, who (in my opinion) would both be a waste of time and money and no better than what we already have here! But now you're saying you wouldnt have them at Derby (or are you? I'm confused!)

WHICH midfielder do YOU want at Derby that realistically we could and should be going for?

posted on 25/8/11

I don't actually think Jimmy Bullard would be great signing for us to be frank.

Granted he's funny, and that video of him on YouTube being pushed around a changing room while sitting in a dirty laundry basket raised something north of a titter from me, but being a comic genius doesn't win football games.

Yes, he has shown the odd glimpse of absolute brilliance, but I think his general demeanour and the fact he clearly thinks the occassional spark of skill translates to Premiership wages would cause issues within the squad - he is no better as a footballer than a fully fit Paul Green (when fully fit himself). Just wait for him to recuperate I say!

Just slightly unrealistic but id love to get Glenn Whelan at Derby...that type of player. Sammy Clingan is realistic..Coventry are skint!

--------

In order of preference:

1) Mark Noble
2) Michael Tonge
3) Julio Arca
4) Danny Pugh
5) Keith Southern

TBR...Mark Noble realistic?...no chance. Arca has signed a new contract. Pugh not sure. No chance of Southern either. Tonge is prob most realistic.

posted on 25/8/11

That's why it's in order of preference.

And since when did signing a new contract have any bearing on anything?

All this aside, Derby County aren't signing any more players this transfer window anyway, so there's as much chance of us signing any of them as there is us signing Xavi and Iniesta.
