that was me, and I was referring to the muslim leaders. Like the heads of states etc

Many of them have. Even the leader of Hamas spoke out to condemn the Paris attacks, for example. Imo one of the issues here is that there are too many voices and that dilutes the message.
Anything the Pope says on behalf of Catholics is widely reported. Afaik, none of the branches of Islam have any such voice.

"Many muslims in Paris actually took to the streets and publicly condemend the violence, but that's not been reported much. It's all on YouTube"
Why should it be reported, because it's Muslims doing so? Surely that's unfair on all the Jewish and atheist folk also in the streets, using your logic that is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read statements from people claiming that Muslim communities or spokespeople should come out to condemn these acts. They have, yet if it has not reported been adequately reported then the public perception of Muslims not speaking out will persist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everybody knows that most Muslims will condemn the attacks. It doesn't help on this site when you get certain people defend, find excuses or justify such attacks.
I think the biggest thing is the differences in culture in the East and the West. Clearly life is cheap in the East, some of the murders and genocides are not only barbaric but almost akin to stories from the Middle Ages.

There no evidence whatsoever that the shot down plane had anything to do with Russia.
Macca,
Based on your idea of muslims marching all over the world in protest over Islamic Extremism, are we then to understand that you marched against the US slaughter of Indochina, the Falklands, both invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, the NATO bombing of Libya and the ongoing murders by drone, to name just a few examples of western extremism?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You totally miss my point
This is about righting an incorrect understanding. Not a protest as such
I categorically stated it shouldn't be out of necessity
It could only do good in a world where Islam is largely misunderstood and misiterpreted due to a minority abusing it
=======================
Is it Islam's fault that it is misunderstood? If people actually cared to do research into it, they would see for themselves.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mate, they speak out against this but do not get decent media coverage. Don Lemon on CNN of all places asked someone who was criticising extremism whether he was a member of ISIS.
Muslims come out en masse to criticise these lunatics but it is rarely if ever covered and even if it is, you hear people say, but it is in the quran even though they have not read it.
In the quran it clearly states that if you kill an innocent, you are condemning yourself which is why I keep saying these people are not muslims. They are lunatics who believe in something completely separate to Islam.
A lot of people in Europe will not go to the ME or densely populated muslim countries, I have been fortunate to not only work but live in them and these people are just like us. They want the best for themselves and their families.
However they are the latest group that needs to be hated and demonised. Happened to the jews, the blacks, asians and not it is time for muslims.
It is very sad

"Whilst there are parts of the Bible which clearly make no logical sense in the modern world (creationism, the Ark etc), there are plenty of parts which are feasible, such as the existence of 'Jesus', who may simply have been an illusionist in a time where people held massively strong religious views and had very little way of understanding something that appeared 'magical' or 'miraculous'. Everything Dynamo/David Blaine etc do today could realistically have been performed in one form or another a couple of thousand years ago - most of it is sleight of hand."
But there aren't billions of people following what David Blaine or Derran Brown tell us to do.
If Jesus was an illusionist, and used his magic to tell people he was the son of god, surely he should be viewed as a fraud not a prophet.
