Herrera really is the new Kagawa. Poor lad.

“You only want to ask about players who are not in the team, never the ones who are playing,” he said. “Three weeks ago it was [Radamel] Falcao, now it’s Herrera. I can only line up 11 players for each game. I am not interested in the £29m price tag, Herrera is an important player just like Paddy McNair is an important player. Herrera cost a lot of money, McNair cost nothing, but it is my job to treat them the same.”
This is what he had to say on Herrera, pure wànk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
how?
Sounds pretty fair to be honest.
Player favouritism at its worst on this board.Embarrassing really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wonder what the owners think about his "I don't care about the £29m price tag"...hell of a lot to pay for a bench warmer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Money doenst come into it,unless you want us to play Mata and Fellaini as well?
really stupid argument.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I'm sure that for the owners money does not come into it.
And Herrera was bought by LVG, Mata and Fellaini were not.
If you'd bothered reading my post with your brain engaged you would have worked out that my point was not that Herrera should play because he was expensive, but that it is a lot to pay for a bench warmer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
err,you seen other expensive bench warmers at clubs like City,Chelsea and the like.Honestly what are you on about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Erm, you mean the two clubs bankrolled by multi-billionaires? Those two clubs?
And if you can find me a PL player who cost more than Herrera and has featured less frequently this season then come back and claim your prize.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes because Manchester United are paupers in the world of football
What does price have to do with it over performance?
Do continually play someone just because he's expensive?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. I have said 3 times he should not be played just because of his price tag.
But LVG is the one who splashed £30m on him and then doesn't play him. And you don't think that deserves questioning? If you went and offered Dortmund £40m for Reus now would you get him? If you hadn't spent £30m on Herrera would you have £40m available? Please join the dots and work it out...there is not an infinite amount of money available to United, so spending £30m on one player means you have £30m less for others.
Herrera will come into play eventually as we really dont have a clue what is going behind doors but my feeling is people are making something out of nothing.
Herrera should have been playing instead of Januzaj but we shall see if LVG is just testing something he tried in training session.

"For the third time my issue is not with LVG not playing herrera, but with £30m going on a player bought by LVG to sit on the bench"
LVG may have signed the deal off, but he wasn't an LVG target. Herrera may be in his plans but a long term plan. There could be a multitutude of reasons he isn't getting game time.

Yeah, I take that point. Him being away at the WC seems to have messed up the summer's spending, will be interesting to see what he does next summer with 8 weeks to buy his own players (and also interesting to see whether the owners back him quite so extravagantly).
idiots comparing herrera situatuion to city or chelsea just exposed themselves for what they are. IDIOTS
So I will explain the difference, It is that we do not have players better than herrera in his position. He is our best cm. city/chelsea are not dropping their best cm to play their strikers in cm
Herrera said: “When the manager wants me to help the team I am going to be ready, of course. I am at Manchester United and we have a very good squad with very good players and it is not easy but of course I am going to work hard.
“I’m going to be ready always for the team because everyone wants to play the next season in the Champions League and of course I want to play.”

LvG's selections are starting to really p1ss me off now.
You can't claim the side is unbalanced and then inexplicably play 3 strikers, 2 wingers and one of the forwards in a deep midfield role.

Sorry he's only started vs Yeovil recently, where scored a screamer. He had a stinker aside from that mind.
When he first returned from injury he looked like he'd be a breath of fresh air the first couple of times he came off the bench. He's looked in effective since.
Like I said, I'm sure he'll be a good squad player long term. Has he been any better than the likes of Carrick, Blind and Fellaini? Not for me, he just brings something different.

Herrera is competing in the attacking middle/central roles of Rooney,Fellaini,Mata.
Personally I'd have Herrera play off Rooney, with Rooney being the main forward but he isnt so-so be it.
Obviously LVG has other idea's and its his choice at the end of the day and its something we're paying him to do.
