JFDI you were the one trying to tell me how important a subject was to me, whilst I was trying to explain to you you were wrong.

If there is anyone with an ego it is you telling people what they are thinking when they are clearly telling you you are wrong. Its not difficult and its not hard, I know myself and what I am thinking far far better than you do.

Only someone with some kind of massive ego would suggest they can read someone better than they can read themselves based off a few forum posts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If any of this was correct I would have ignored it however I never told you that, I did say that your claim of a lack of interest was not reflected in your posts. It's an opinion and I thought you were intelligent enough to see that, having an opinion does not make one wrong or right.

I have never claimed to know what you are thinking.

I say if any of it were true, I suppose I agree with this:

Only someone with some kind of massive ego would suggest they can read someone better than they can read themselves based off a few forum posts

Well you seem to do that quite readily.

But you seem to be the one doing this more than any other poster.

I said I think... not I know... or you have..

I think is just stating what I think, not necessarily what is fact. If you ask a friend something and he says I think it is x, then you ask another friend who says he knows it is y, then you go with the latter as he knows what it is whereas the first guy thought it was x but couldn't say for sure.

Assuming they are both fairly trustworthy...

I clearly stated it wasn't, but you continued to disagree, if you can't know that then surely as the bigger expert in my feelings and thoughts I probably have a better idea of what I am thinking and feeling?

If that's the case then it involves a conscious attempt for the producers and the pundits on Sky to do that. They are by definition conspiring not to mention Skrtel at all simply on the basis that he is a lesser name than Costa. According to you anyway.
..................................................

It doesn't require any kind of conspiracy, you talk about the biggest stories because they are the ones of interest...

The same reason the national news doesn't care about some local girl winning a swimming competition, they don't conspire to keep the small unimportant story out of the news.

------------------------------------

We're not talking about a local girl winning a swimming competition though.

We're talking about a well known player of one of the biggest clubs in the country playing in one of the bigger games of the season. A game that was shown by Sky on Super Sunday.

TBH English is a far more important communication tool which is much more widely used, so English was the priority.

The assumption is in, 'in much the same way almost every other forum member does', seperate to what you thought about JFDI coming to the realisation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You do realise that the sentence still started with "I think" there were no breaks to make what you just copy pasted a new sentence, it was all part of the original "I think" statement....

So a well known player stamping on another well known player in a Super Sunday game between arguably the two biggest sides in the country isn't a news story that should attract any attention or in this case not even get mentioned at all ??

I really don't follow what point you're trying to make SAF.

Bigger news story = more attention...

Thats my only point.

There were other factors in play to make it less of a talking point as well. There was the Gerrard stamp to focus on, and with Gerrard being such a big name (much bigger than Skrtel) and with it being (possibly) his last game against United.

It also happened in the very last second and had absolutely no effect on the game... these factors meant it wasn't a very big news story...

You certainly wouldn't have had the Sky staff and pundits conspiring with each other to not mention the Skrtel stamp before the camera's came on them...

I haven't, I merely repeat what I said in the fist place in the hope that you might at some point take it for an opinion as you form your opinions based on a few posts. I have never claimed to be right, I do claim the right to an opinion though.

You may see that as arguing, I see it as an attempt to clarify what I said. I only feel the need to do that because you seem intent in making more out of it that I ever intended. That is your choice and I can only repeat it is an opinion.

You can have no more an idea of the size of my ego than I can have in the sincerity of your posts.

Disagreeing with someone when they say something isn't important to them is certainly arguing, or maybe disagreeing if you prefer.

You certainly weren't agreeing with my summation of my feelings on the matter, you were in fact disagreeing.

I can guess at your ego based on the fact you feel you are able to better judge what is important to me based on a few forum posts than I can for myself!

That certainly is pretty arrogant!

---------------------------

And I totally agree with that, I just don't think it's at all relevant to this discussion.

You would have a point if Sky only briefly touched on the Skrtel incident and then moved on.

The problem is that's not what happened and I know this because I watched Super Sunday in it's entirety. Skrtel's stamp wasn't mentioned even once after the game.

Not just that but in the highlights of the Liverpool match that they showed just after the Chelsea game the Skrtel incident had been completely edited out as if it had never happened.

Surely that is a glaring double standard when you consider how much of a furore and outcry was made over Costa doing exactly the same thing that Skrtel did.

Once again I will point out that it is an opinion formed on your posts themselves, I have never claimed at any point to know what you are thinking or how sincere you are, I have my doubts on your sincerity based on your contributions for sure, but that doesn't make me right.

You however continually tell me I do, and yet call me arrogant.

..................................................

It is a glaring double standard that has always existed, bigger club, bigger player = more attention.

Exactly the same with United and especially with Rooney, he puts a foot out of line and it is all over the place.

If all you're saying is bigger players will get more attention drawn to their bad moments, I agree completely. If you are saying that is unfair, I agree completely.

If you are saying there is a specific campaign against Chelsea then I disagree completely...

Maybe you could clarify which of the above is what you believe?

As for if its a double standard or not I could go both ways with that one, if we consider all footballers as equal then yes it is a double standard, if we acknowledge the difference in profile between different players then equally high profile players are treated equally badly...

You continued to disagree with me and even now continue to do so, if you don't know as you say, and me, the expert in all things me says otherwise, then why else would you continue to disagree?

Not sure what else you call someone who thinks they know somebody better than they know themselves based off a few forum posts but arrogant?

I can't think of a better word to sum it up in all honesty....
