The worst player to have....

Malouda apart from a good spell under Hiddink and 2-3 months in Carlo's first season was an utter waste of space

malouda's a good shout as well

I think Djimi Traore and Boswinga are the only players who have won the Champions League and then the following season been relegated from the premiership!

the worst players are the ones who don't really play much and get moved on quickly

there aren't really ever 'rubbish' players for CL calibre sides so for me it's really about compared to other regular starters, who is the odd one out that other clubs aren't bothered if they start.

malouda fits that description IMO, So does Mikel.

Once you got new players those two don't look up to scratch in terms of quality

Mikel isn't really a failure as well. May not have been a favorable player to have however he has been of use over the years

I agree with that

paulo ferreira or mikel

posted on 27/3/15

ferreria was a division 2 player who just played alongside the best starting 10 in PL history. Whenever we conceded a goal in that season it was generally surrounding him. So so poor. He played several games the first season or 2 and was the reason we didn't go undefeated. He gave away about 4-5 pens that season, one of them being the anelka pen that was the only game we lost that season 04-05

Would be interesting to know if we'd have won the CL that night in Munchen without Mikel!!

Would be interesting to know if we'd have won the CL that night in Istanbul without Kewell and Traore!!

My point being he gets a lot of stick but he was immense that night and I don't think we'd have withstood the pressure without him!

Nick we relied upon Ferreria time after time in his first contract his partnership with Carvaliho was a success.

He was kept as a utility player and he did the job.

How you can suggest that he was a failure is astonishing.

Like wise for Mikel.

The years of success we shared with these player who undoubtably played there part and you see Torres as a better player for the club ,if not i assume you would have pointed them out out is beyond the pale

In a couple of seasons your be knocking Drogba at that rate

who said anything about being a failure you donut, he was very succesful for us. But he was our worst player in our title winning seasons and by a massive distance. Absolutely carried and at fault for most of the goals we conceded in that period.

Torres is also up there though.
So I didnt say he was a failure, as a man who played football hes a success, but still doesnt mean he was very good. Read the OP's question again brother. And I went to near enough every one of his games remember.

relied upon ferreira when exactly? I remember a few times when terry and carvahlo were out and he had absolute shockers. Liverpool away for example.

Paulo played prominent rolls for CFC in

20003/4 > 2006/7 & 2009/10 > 2011/2012,

These are the years we won all of our major silverware.

He didn't have type of injury free career that J/T has had but he was an important player for us.

To suggest he was one of our worst players to have collected honours is a shambles

posted on 27/3/15

god so many flaws. Re-read what I have said before throwing your toys out mate.

He was a part of the team in our most succesful years(leading to the OPs question of who is basically our worst but succesful player)
he was usually at fault whenever we conceded in our strongest ever team(in my lifetime)

He was one of the worst individual players though. Teams use to focus on him in that second season because they knew he was a weak link.

Nick , Please play nicely,

Every player has poor games, he is no different, but to suggest he was one of our poorest player to collect major honours imo ridiculous , I'm suggesting he was continuously one our of best players, but he was relabel and did do the job when called upon.

The club gave him two contracts and he featured continuously in the periods when we won honours

during paulo ferrieras reign we tried out glen johnson, geremi, essien, diarra, boulahrouz and ivanovic at right back. Why is that?
