Riise was half his price how many years ago?
Moreno has had a decent season and will improve as he's very young. I think he'll be an excellent player for us in the next few years.
Exact same thing when Rafa wanted Milner now everybody on here wants us to sign him. Few others too
I think decent season is pushing it.
He has been ok.
He doesn't defend well and his final ball is bilge.
He has good energy, pace and stamina.
He is more of an athlete than a footballer at the moment.
Hopefully he can make big strides over the next couple of years.
Moreno is cack though but does have a lot of potential. He could easily come good bearing in mind age and new country etc etc. Bertrand is playing in a great defensive unit and i dont think will get much better
Yeah a lot of know it all said lovren, lallana, markovic,manquilo and lambert were not good enough when were signing them. Does not really prove anything apart from sometimes you are right and some you are wrong. For clarity I was one that said betrand was not good enough but was unsure on moreno as never saw him play.
To be fair Moreno is 22 and just had his first season in the premier league, Bertrand is 25 and only ever played in England.
Hardly comparable at the moment.
Ah ok so it's only fair to compare them when Moreno is better.

One is more experienced and is currently the better player...

Dejan Lovren looked like the next John terry at Southampton but has flopped big time for us.
Bertrand was never impressive for Chelsea and have found his level at Southampton.
Funny how nobody last summer said
'Bertrand is more experienced and a better player'.
Instead it was 'Bertrand is rubbish let's pay £20m for Moreno instead'.
Woeful article. Bertrand is a decent player, been around for a while now and at 25 has played a good few seasons. Moreno has moved to a new country and a new league and overall has had a decent season. Yes Bertrand has had a better season but if you aren't shortsighted you'll see the massive potential in Moreno.
For me he will go on to become Spain's left back in a couple of seasons.

Puncheon isn't in the team of the year.
No way is Moreno getting picked ahead of Alba anytime soon Toor. Also Spain have another new left back at Valencia who is 19 and supposed to be the dogs balls. Forget his name.
If Moreno gets more than 30 caps I will be surprised.

Well I won't deny Markovic has been largely bilge.
I wouldn't replace him with Puncheon though.
If Sterling stays I would ideally send Markovic on loan next season.

I think our team could do with a 25 yr old 7/8 out of 10 every week player.
Too many Titi Camara's and not enough Steve Finnans.
Loaning Markovic makes no sense at all.
Would just set him backwards.

Lallana has been largely, unfortunately he has gone back to being injury prone like he was in his younger years at Saints.
Lovren has never been consistent to be fair. He was all over the place at Lyon before Southampton by all accounts. He has come into some form recently.
