Mourinho is a pragmatist and made sure his squad was strong enough to cope with many injuries.
I find it unbelievable that people are so bitter of Chelsea that they can say they were lucky even when the gap is double figures.
And I don't even care about Chelsea one way or another, in honesty.
------------------------------------
Again, you're missing the point.
Firstly, Mourinho didn't make his squad strong enough to cope with many injuries. Because they didn't have many injuries.
Secondly, I never said Chelsea weren't worthy winners. But they were lucky that both Arsenal and United had the injury crisis' they did have in the early part of the season allowing them to build up a big lead before the injuries stopped.
My idea in the OP and one that works well in Australia is for there to be a minor Premiership champion - which would have been Chelsea but also play-offs to decide who the champion would be. Based on last season it's fair to say that when both sides were injury free Arsenal were as good as Chelsea. So with a May play-off we'd see who the best team really was rather than one who had the least injuries.

reinforcing your squad is about money, not being a 'good' manager. I'm sure the manager of Wigan would love a bench of £20-30mil internationals. Apparently because he doesn't he's a 'bad' manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm talking at the top level, it's all relative.
How much have Manchester City had to spend yet they look a different side without Aguero?
At the bottom of the table it is exactly the same, albeit at a lower level.
Every manager is asked to name 25 players- if you're spending significant money- which the top four clubs do- then you can't bleat about injuries.

I'm not sure how you can say Arsenal were as good as Chelsea.
Mourinho likely was willing to settle for more draws once he knew he had established the breathing room to do so- who's to say if United and Arsenal weren't fully fit and breathing down their necks that Mourinho wouldn't have got even more points?

Injuries have nothing to do with luck.
What a coincidence that Arsenal have an injury crisis every year. Just pure bad luck i guess

Sense. At last.
I'd take every pence of TV, Europe, League, Cup and all sponsorship cash and divide it by 20 as the distribution method.

Equally who's to say that with a fully fit Arsenal and United breathing down their necks Chelsea wouldn't have started to feel the pressure?
Immediate 10 game ban for players found guilty of feigning injury and trying to con ref, this could be done within hours of a match finishing, plenty of video evidence available

World cup of pure knock out involving all teams who want to be involved (would require some sides playing one extra game).
Wage caps would be great but I wonder if players would lose some motivation. Greedy caaants.

I like it.
In the same way, if the referee thought a player had dived when he had actually been kicked. I would like the ref to receive that kick with the the same force.

I'd prefer they play the rest of the season with a 12" d1ld0 superglued to their forehead. Headers would be a challenge.
If you think Wenger or Van Gaal were close to Mourinho last season Robb and got hampered by injuries then you're delusional.
Fair enough Arsenal turned it on towards the end of the season- they still didn't have the mentality to get second place though did they, which they'd talked up a bit beforehand?
United were completely average last season, perhaps barring the Liverpool and Tottenham games in a short space of time which arguably changed their season.

Will you concede that if Mourinho had suffered the same amount of injuries to his back four, Matic and Hazard that we did to our like for like players - Chelsea would have lost a significant amount of points?
Number three is a mental suggestion.

Marcelino - it was more Arsenal than United to be fair. Though with no Europe we may have gotten a lot closer without the injury crisis of the first half of the season.
IMO Arsenal are as good as Chelsea right now. But injuries really facked them up. Chelsea really aren't great. They deserved the league based on the format of how a league is run. But again, i'm talking about the possibility of a play-off style end of season winner takes all scenario and on that basis IMO Arsenal would have won it.
Not saying it will ever happen in England. But it happens in Australia and works well. Teams there who have all sorts of mishaps during the season get a chance to get it right in the finals.
