PEARSON SACKED!

Let's all just calm down and wait for the facts to emerge, as they are bound to do. Our owners are not stupid, and won't have done this lightly. There will be a reason, and yes maybe it has to do with the binning of Pearson Junior. Which we all commended.

Cambiasso for me. All the others named so far are dwarves.

Didn't Fuchs sign because of Pearson?

I wonder if this means Cambiasso goes or stays?

If it's related to transfer policy, it's almost certainly wrong. If it's a disagreement over the sacking of Pearson Jr, I'm with the club. If it's to clear the way for Cambiasso, that's rocky ground.

If it's to clear the way for Dyche, it's ridiculous!

Well that was a suprise. Why sack him now, is it a cheaper payout or something or is it Pearson wanted more control and didn't budge and got sacked.

Sky Sports News has just said the sacking was down to 'fundamental differences between the board and Pearson'. Whatever has happened this has come as a shock to me.

Rob Dorsett at Sky suggests it is in part down to the situation with Pearsons son. If that's the case then I agree with the decision. Let's not forget we struggled for large parts of last season.

Thanks for the memories Nigel but onwards and upwards.

Don't add my penny worth's on here very often but have stood and sat through hundreds of games since the early seventies and read comments on here regularly since it was hosted by the BBC.

I didn't expect this and have to say part of me thinks it is the wrong decision. I don't have inside knowledge or know any of the staff but believe that Pearson had the respect of the players, both past and present, who speak of him as a good manager: for example, Paul Gallagher's interview in the Sunday Times a few months ago. The names being mentioned fill me with dread and I fail to see how they can replace the team spirit NP has built. However, I agree with DM: if this relates to the sacking of his son then NP loses my respect.

The other part of me thinks that we are so used to LCFC being LCFC that we haven't cottened on to the ambition of the owners. Schlupp signed a new contract based on his belief in where the club is headed: I took that to mean under the Pearson regime. Maybe he knew something we didn't and we are headed for places that dreams are made of. Maybe we should not be thinking Lennon, Dyche or Allardyce but the Mouriniho's or Wenger's of this world.

This is Leicester City..... No one name is bigger than the club! Better this has happened now than ten games into the season.

Blood is thicker than water and I would imagine Nige is very protective of his son.We will get better without him!

This is what happens whenever a manager, however successful, thinks that he is bigger than the club.

posted on 30/6/15

Yeah forgot about that as well. His son could have been final nail in his coffin.

posted on 30/6/15

Will we get better without him though Florida?

That's a bold statement. I have huge concerns that the wrong appointment could tear the team spirit apart, take too long to get his ideas across and see us relegated by Christmas.

Don't underestimate this discontent this will cause amongst the players.

I hope I'm wrong, and we do appoint a manager with genuine quality, but boy do I worry with all the current names being bandied around.

Pearson was a safe bet. We're now in the realms of risk, potential reward or failure!

Half the squad are likely to be not wanted by any new Manager, suddenly very worrying times for players who were expecting another great season.

I wish him well, let's just hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.

Mersey- At best with Pearson I was hoping to just stave off relegation next season! I want, desire and require more for our club. Apparently the owners agree!!!

CDUBYA - it could easily be onwards and downwards.

I wait with interest to see who they will put in for this critical appointment.

Also to see what JG has to say - presumably the celebratory fireworks are exploding over JG towers tonight!

TB- How do you know that? We have now a good base...
I welcome a clear out... Nugent, konch and cancel RDL's
contract would be a fantastic start for the new guy!

How ironic, I was looking forward to a probable top ten finish, now depending on who comes in and the players react I fear relegation more!

Top Ten? I want some of what you are on TB....

Nah, you're too fickle for me

We now, will never know what loud mouth Nige would of done next season TB.I am no manager but his failed and lack of signings after securing promotion early from the Championship bit him in the ass.... Only when he had nowt to lose did his team start playing with desire!

TB- One thing for sure.... I do not like you! Goodnight name caller!

I won't speculate on the reasons why this has happened as it can't be performance related. If it was then the decision is idiotic in the extreme.

For those people who were calling for Pearson's head last season it might be a case of be careful what you wish for. We've now got to go through the risky business of appointing a new manager.

Even if we get it right I seriously fear relegation next season. I really can't see someone else getting the same level of performance from the likes of Schlupp, Morgan and Vardy and will coveted players now choose to move on? Is Cambiasso's return now less likely?

For a team that aren't established it looks like a very high risk strategy. It might pay off - but for me it's much more likely to fail!

Feck sake, I only came on here to see what arro had to say!!!!

I can't share Florida Fox's assessment that this is a positive thing: I was hoping for good news on Cambiasso's contract, then I would have been feeling optimistic about next season; a top half finish would havr been possible if odds off. Now we're in a situation where we could make small progress, could plunge, or anywhere in between. Overall, it's a big risk to take so there had better be good reasons for this decision.

However, what I would say is that if there is such a thing as "the right time", then this is it. (Ok, ideally it would have been a month ago, but still.) The new manager, as long as he's appointed quickly, will have a pre-season and half a transfer window to work with and will have the opportunity to put his stamp on things before the first kick-off. What happens to the sports science department is anyone's guess though, and it'd be a shame to lose them.
