Casillas is off to Porto in a few days. Ddg will be gone soon.

I'll never get utd fans and Nani. He hasn't had a kick for 5 or 6 years. How on earth is he worth anything?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the real world he isn't. It annoys people when they see very ordinary players going for more, I get that. Whoever buys Nani will get three absolute world class performances and 35 Sunday league ones though.

Feel sorry for Keylor Navas.

We're going to lose him for £25m (roughly) and then Ramos will renew his contract. Absolutely nailed on to happen.

You should sign him.

The homegrown rule will backfire badly.

It won't be long before three homegrowners will have to be in the team.

The way round it will be to have three £500 per week English kids in the team and then subbing them off straight after kick off.

City aren't going to comply with that rule. Their fans will bleat endlessly that the FA are corrupt and are after them and the Sheiks will appeal to the European court of human rights and get the rule overturned.

Wouldn't be a bad signing, Henrik.

I wouldn't be opposed to Valdes being number one, though.

We probably sell Di Maria for £4m in 2 years time.

I would love Navas as our number 1

It was cruel what they did to us over Di Maria and Shaw last summer.

We overpaid £45 million on the two of them.

If any position on the pitch can be reignited after not playing regular football for a while it's definitely GK. You don't lose your keeper instincts. So Valdes could recapture his form given a chance.

Maybe Valdes will be number one. Did strike me as strange at the time we got him that he came to sit on the bench permanently.

Have a feeling we'll go for Begovic too though and have some competition for the jersey.

The top rate of tax is less than 20% in turkey so no need to offer the same wage, just a longer term deal/playing time. Saves 26m or thereabouts in total so although sad to see it end badly for rvp and can't help feeling rooney won't be sorry to see rvp leave as he has not done it since his arrival.

I see Hugo Lloris in goal for us.
He is very, very good.

I wanted RVP to sign for Spurs to see utter meltdown.

Rooney's just announced he's expecting a third child, wonder what he'll name this one. Klan?

Potentially, Stretford.

I'm willing to give him the chance. Given how high we defend there aren't many keepers better suited to it. Though how his knee injury has affected his speed off his line remains to be seen.

And although he's not really been playing at least he's been training with his teammates, and worked with Van Gaal, so there's some familiarity there.

Given we've got a new right back and likely to have at least one new cb, getting a new keeper gives our backline an even worse understanding that it already has.

Yeah I'm starting to get a bad feeling again. Too much change at same time rarely goes well.

Spurs n Liverpool last two season had wholesale changes and it backfired massively.

I was willing to be patient and just add 2 or 3 good signings this summer and try and improve.

Looks likely that it could be as many as 6 or 7 given the player departures and added CL games (hopefully) we've got to come.

We can't expect a title challenge with a new keeper, cb, rb, winger, midfielder and maybe even a striker all at same time.

I don't understand the logic (if that's what we're intending on doing)

Apparently we're very close to nabbing Barcelona's best young goalkeeper, Iñaki Peña.

Are we sure we want to go down this route again?

Just seen this on the caf and made an article on it.

We never learn

Yeah fair comments, Stretford. It's up to Van Gaal to mould the team quickly.

I guess one positive thing is the improvements we saw from the existing team last season so hopefully they can kick on, both individually and collectively.

Knowing how any new signings will start off is always an unknown quantity, of course. But some may start well.

Losing De Gea will be a huge blow, though. He's our best player.

I'm not expecting a title challenge. Not unless we do something crazy in the window and resign Ronaldo or buy Muller / Bale etc.

Too many new faces / Changes. Just need to cement top 4 again and improve our play and performances.

I know that sounds defeatist but it's realisitic. This current team isn't Pl winners material.

We need to sign Dutch and Danish keepers instead.
