Not quite sure I understand the "we've got depth" argument. We have 3 potential first-team wide men in Walcott, Sanchez and the Ox. That's three players gunning for two roles, which isn't quite enough. Furthermore, the argument goes ahead and includes Walcott as an alternative to Giroud and an injury-prone Welbeck upfront.
Both Walcott and the Ox can't be trusted to stay fit past October, and Sanchez may need a few weeks to readjust when he comes back on Monday. This leaves us at least 2 top-class attacking players short. Wenger's aggressive loaning of players doesn't help matters either.
There is also a case to be made for similar structural shortages in midfield.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I understand you right you want Wenger to sign players for a future injury crisis?
Its not exactly stock piling either, its just expecting an injury problem after having at least one every season for nearly a decade
thats anti wenger
its not inpatient
its prudent

add Welbeck, Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky.
Also I wouldn't say it was a good idea to go out and sign a player on a 4 year contract because 2 players need a week.

The same point of view I had last year, when I called for more top-class attacking talent. I was still calling for one more wide man, when most people thought Sanchez was a luxury buy.
We still have the same players as last season. Minus a few decent kids out on loan, who could have really helped out.

Thats clearly not true though is it,we started short and everyone knew it,apart from you then as it seems, add to this that even if some of that shortfall was added at the start of the season then more additions in jan we would have competed not just last season but over the last 10,everyone knows this,at worst people say that wenger had no money to do this(also false) but everyone acknowledges that with just a few quality players would have vastly improved us
hence the 1 or 2 away chat every season after the annual foreseen injury crisis
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What on earth are you talking about? The injury crisis was across the whole team last year and as a result we suffered all over the pitch. As if buying these '1 or 2 players' that we were short of would have made a jot of difference. How many times do the likes of you have to have it drilled into your brains: if the majority of our first team players are out for significant amounts of time, then we wont compete for the top honours. This is regardless of the amount of back up we buy

Actually its very impatient. There's a reason Chelsea sold Felipe Luis and Salah while looking for anyone to take Cuadrado off their hands.
Why do you think Valdes left man u?
Bellerin is very young, and could become class buy anyone who thinks he's more than decent hasn't been watching closely, or as Kamran would say, has been fooled by his passport and Barca roots. He's really sloppy on the ball going forward (even on routine passes) and his positional play needs plenty of refinement. His improvemeby over the Chambers catastrophe has somewhat over-inflated his reputation.
Unless we have unbelievable luck with injuries (which we won't) it's another wasted season in terms of the PL/CL as we're still missing a DM and CF as per usual.

And your solution is to go buy more players? We lost Podolski because we couldn't get him games when he came back from his torn hamstring.
That lost us money (selling a world cup winner for less than 2 million is a blow to any team without a sugardaddy owner).
Chelsea will have lost 40 million on those 3 players because of poor management (Yes, unlike the rest of you, I do believe Mourinho is a poor manager albeit his quality as a tactician).
Could you stop playing FIFA for a second and realize that kind of money is the difference between being in the market for Benteke and being in the market for Benzema?

You could say same about Alaba in his first season, surely. Everything you've listed comes with experience.
Look at his run to create the goal against chelsea.
His crossing/final ball is amazing for a fullback, never mind a young one.
His covering pace (along with Kos) have made me very comfortable with Mert in the side.
Also he's fecking 20.
Gibbs is 26 soon FFS.
In anycase, I think the usual pessimism at this stage has been replaced with rather inflated optimism about our squad. Rivals underrate us, but we're over-estimating what we've got. Chelsea have the best manager, best injury record, and best first XI. I expect them to win the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our results first eleven to first eleven from last are better. Surely if the argument about them as challengers is based on their first eleven not their squad depth, we can make the claim that with the improvements to our fitness department, and our track record of doing better than everyone else while the first team is available, we can expect to win the league as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe because our injured players had a good rest? I'm yet to see Wenger manage a tired player responsibly.
Regarding the injury thing, I'd love to see our first traders remain injury free, but I sadly cannot see it. Chelsea seem to have that nailed down, bar Costa's hamstrings.
It's too easy to make conclusions from stats. I prefer to infer things from what I've seen in the recent past.
Bellerin is a rubbish defender, I have always maintained this. It's weird how people don't see it. His pace and his dribbling going forward bail him out, it seems.

I don't care how it look before he has to make up ground. I care that he does.
I care that he has everything he needs to kick on and be quality enough to make barca have to feck of with that "DNA bull" soon.
No one said that Bellerin is world class by now. He is unexperienced and will make mistake as any other defender. People who cant see his class are blind as I said before. And no me thinking he is class by now has absolute nothing to do with his passport.

Don't know who you've been arguing with, but you'll have to dial down the condescending tone.
In recent years, Wenger has made a lot of progress by shipping the dead weight out of the squad. The problem was so bad, we're still not yet done 3 years later.
His key weakness has been with the British lads. We've somehow managed to retain a homegrown quota of massively paid crocks.
Contrast this with the foreign imports over the same time frame. Debuchy is the only noticeably injury-prone foreign player among the newer senior recruits.
