Even that list you posted proves my point! Arteta was above Xavi on the list, ffs. And no team would take Arteta over Xavi at his peak.
And Xavi is (still) 1000,000 times the midfielder Carrick is and ever will be.

SAF thinks Carrick is the best english midfielder/player in the game. LVG has said Carrick is one of the few players that can pass forward.

What year did Fergie say that?
Hendo was injured going into the game today and still played well
I remember seeing this and I said on here likes of Schweinsteiger will come on as a sub for Carrick, not the other way round and its been proved correct.

Not really suprising
However, his importance was highlighted by the fact United had an impressive 72 per-cent win rate with him in the side and the fact the only time he started in a loss was the narrow home reverse to Southampton in January.

The midfield is decent.
You play slow and most of the time sideways.

You have Rooney who has a tackle as a first touch.
gerrard only hits hollywood passes that miss their target though
you just got outed telling porkies
Carrick his passes are sideways.

Carrick his passes are sideways.
......
He rarely passes it sideways though, his first thought is forward, thats why most of the goals man utd scored last season started with a pass forward by him.
