Damien Duff, he went to the same school as me was in my older brothers year, he left at 15 and went to Blackburn, we used to play football on a Sunday with his mates and one day when he was about 21 and in the Blackburn and ROI sides he just turned up with his mates and we played a game, he was taking it really handy and still was unreal, so quick and strong, you couldn't even kick him if you tried!

I was watching an old video last night.

we went to holland, belguim and germany on a football tour for west suffolk.

it was very professional, they even had little match programmes with the teams listed.

I was playing up front and wasnt given a sniff by this german Centre back all game.

turned out to be Christophe Metzelder who went on to play for Germany

Metzelder was quality, shame about the injuries but yeah that's definitely a great story to have. Bet you've reeled that out a few times over the years haha.

ive also played with a couple of former arsenal players.

George Armstrongs son used to own the leasure centre where i lived, if we were short on players old george would put the boots on for a game of 5-a-side.

even at nearly 50 years of age he was a pretty good player and asuch a great guy

Not personally but I know someone who used to play with Emile Heskey in a youth team.

Also remember once we got pest control round to the house and the lad started telling me that he went to the same school as JT and used to kick about with him.

I asked him if JT was a brilliant player as a kid and he said not really which disappointed me a bit

I met Peter Schmeichel at a hotel in Manchester a looooooooong time ago. Had a kick about with Kasper in the car park as we were about the same age at the time.

Also, Trevor Francis once took a coaching session at my local football team.

to be honest it took about 10 years for me to realise who he was
