And speaking only for myself I would love liverpool to get less media coverage, but we can't get away from it - rodgers under pressure, rodgers lifts pressure, rodgers blames media etc etc - so I would suggest the obsession is a media one, not an opposition fans' one.

You make it sound like clockwork orange with your eyes held open.

Buy a proper paper and stop taking in Murdochs guff.

You can do it!

I admire your faith in me hoody!

But the beeb are as guilty as others, though their output these days is mostly drivel, I really ought to find a better source for my ill-informed opinions.

The Independent, "I" and the Guardian do not print any of the rubbish that you are so slavishly subjected to.

No but buying from a position of strength is exactly that - a position of strength.

You were in a position of strength. You had one of the best front lines in world football the year you finished second.

So no mention or Rodgers 'being under pressure' from either of these publications then?

Jay I'm not sure whether you're being obtuse or just don't know what you're talking about.

Coming second means what exactly? Did you think, as a fan, that was sustainable in a league with two billionaire owned clubs, the richest club in the world and Arsenal? Did you?

The point was shown by not getting Sanchez. Who did get him?

Oh.

LVG is certainly well versed in the chatting 5hit department, so you've gone for an odd angle arab

Johnathan Wilson of the guardian did only write a piece on Rodgers last week either Thursday or Friday, good piece too worth a read, he's an excellent journalist.

Why didn't Liverpool buy top players in the transfer window when you had the Champions league as an offering to them.

Often hear excuses that you can't get top players to join as you can't offer them Champions league football, but when you did qualify for it you went out and bought dross

Yes there are considered articles but none of the comic drivel like this article and it's certainly not relentless.

Because they moved elsewhere with better locations and for more money.

Evidence? "Louis Van Gaals Red Army" closer to impersonating David Brent in an interview than Rodgers has ever come, and feck me he's come close a lot of times.

The Christmas speech was cringe.

The problem with looking at how much a club spends is that it is not an open market as much as people think it is. Just because a club has a certain amount of money, it doesn't mean they can spend whatever they want with it. We had to build three teams to get to premier league winners (one to get into Europe, one to get into the CL and one to then win the league), as the players that take clubs that final steps simply won't come.

Instead, clubs that do have money have to take a gamble on that second tier player and hope it comes off. Three clubs that have had plenty of money to spend, either through investment or from a sale of a player, are Liverpool, Spurs and us. Both Liverpool and Spurs have spent money on players that can be deemed now as overpriced and poor buys, the exact same as we did. The difference is we had the funds to go again, and to then bring in that extra quality.

Rodgers is one of the most interesting coaches working in the PL at the moment, his use of the 343 in particular deserves a lot of credit. Yes, he's made mistakes and he can be (very) cringeworthy at times.

I do think he will still be a success though, it's just that what is judged as success at Liverpool is higher than it realistically should be.

I think Rodgers is a good manager and certainly knows his shiiit but with all good motivators, there's only so many times his schtick works with the same club. I think he's said all he can say at Liverpool and will probably leave in the near future before rebuilding his reputation at a Spurs or a Palace. Then if/when that goes well he could get a job at Arsenal/Chelsea with a bigger budget (and more importantly, pull for bigger players) and re-create what he almost did in 13/14.

As long as it's a well written articulate article saying 'Rodgers under pressure' it's superior and holds more gravitas than a red top with a back page headline saying 'RODGERS UNDER PRESSURE'.

Both saying the same, but one you are happy with the one well written but slag of the red top but essentially they are saying the same.

Strange way of thinking

Well no phil. Jesus you go so far out of your way to be bitter sometime you just genuinely end up looking fvcking stupid.

Tabloids are exactly that. If we are talking about sensationalism of a subject, and we are, then the way it is written is paramount to that.

tabloid
ˈtablɔɪd/Submit
noun
a newspaper having pages half the size of those of the average broadsheet, typically popular in style and dominated by sensational stories.

Both reporting Rodgers is under pressure but in different ways, you are happy that he can be reported as being under pressure as long as it's articulate enough for you exacting standards

But at the end of the day the broadsheets are saying the same as the redtops. But with more longer words.

I see the scousers are making excuses again. Until Fergie left you had outspent Utd and failed.

You have outspent Arsenal and failed and are now a laughing stock. Your manager has wasted money on crap and you are going backwards and are reliant on a donkey who is a poor version of Welbeck

You guys need a reality check. You are no longer a big club and you need to realign your objectives. Your only hope of success is the odd cup run. I doubt even a young fergie could revitalise the shower at anfield at the moment.

Fergie really knocked you off your perch.
