I see the scousers are making excuses again. Until Fergie left you had outspent Utd and failed.

You have outspent Arsenal and failed and are now a laughing stock. Your manager has wasted money on crap and you are going backwards and are reliant on a donkey who is a poor version of Welbeck

You guys need a reality check. You are no longer a big club and you need to realign your objectives. Your only hope of success is the odd cup run. I doubt even a young fergie could revitalise the shower at anfield at the moment.

Fergie really knocked you off your perch.

a newspaper having pages half the size of those of the average broadsheet, typically popular in style and dominated by sensational stories.

Both reporting Rodgers is under pressure but in different ways, you are happy that he can be reported as being under pressure as long as it's articulate enough for you exacting standards

But at the end of the day the broadsheets are saying the same as the redtops. But with more longer words.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sigh. You're not stupid so why do you do this? Genuinely interested.

Tabloids have greater exposure and are more sensationalist by their definition. This is not up for debate.

It's nothing to do with longer words or my "exactingh standards" it's to do with serious journalism vs click bait.

Do you honestly think Harry "I read and write like a two year old" Redknapp writes his columns for a considered appraisal of football or to reel mugs like you in?

Do you think talksport likes to give a fair appraisal or does it propagate sensationalist nonsense to reel mugs like you in?

Now I know you won't answer those as you're classless in that respect but the fact is if you think that tabloids represent the same stories as serious journalism with the same agenda you are fvcking stupid end of.

Just stop it Phil. The bitterness is just cringy.

You are as equally drawn in by those who write big words for the clever boys and what they say than those who read from the red tops with their click bait.

Only difference is the broadsheets are more subtle and are for the smug barstewards like your good self

Liverpool have their problems but I laugh at Mancs who point fingers when they themselves have long been knocked off their perch as well. This will be the third season without a trophy yet all they can do is talk about Fergie and Liverpool.

Theyll finish top 4 though

You seeing into the future again? So they are not going to win a trophy this year despite the season only being just less than a sixth into it.

You must have some mystical powers Mamba

To be fair we got closer to winning trophies last season than Utd did.

I love that fact people say we're deluded when it's clear that most fans know exactly what level we're at.

I don't understand why people come on here and continually write bitter and unsubstantiated rubbish. Smacks of low self esteem tbh.

Fair point. I might do the odd wum (Benteke) but I certainly wouldn't be classed as bitter. Every club has those fans.

I hope we get to see Benteke and Sturridge together for 20 league games this season. Tall order all things considered but if we do we should be very competitive.

If that happens you will be challenging for top 4 (with Chelsea perhaps!)

Betfred are doing 5/1 for new customers on Chelsea winning the league. Worth a punt I feel.

Hoody the delusion thing is just a stick to beat us with.

the problem is, it is fuelled by a small percentage of our support who still live like its the glory years.

I know exactly where we stand as a club. We are a former great who have been on hard times for quite a while now with the occassional moment of magic (Istanbul 2005).

I am 41 now and have unfortunately resigned myself to the fact we wil never win the league again.

Some call it a defeatist atitude but It is just how I see it mate.

Obviously no one can accurately predict the future but that is how I see it panning out.

Doesent change my stance and support of the club.

Possibly. To be honest it would need to be at least 10/1 to really be worth being without my potential winnings for 8 months.

Irish

Exactly how I feel mate. Haven't thought we'd win the league since Fowler and Collymore tbh.

I'm no pot chaser though so I'm okay with it.

Most Liverpool fans I know aren't your usual 'this is our year' people. In fact, even in 13/14 when in Feb i was talking up your chances, you lot were being calm and not boasting at all.

Everyone has their stereotypes about oppositions fans (United - gloryhunters, Liverpool - delusional, Chelsea - racists, Arsenal - wideboys etc) but in reality I very much doubt 99% of all fans of clubs are any different from each other. Just people with families who love watching football and who all don't care that much about rivalries that we'd actually hurt one another.

Exactly I have been lucky enough to see us win it. I was 15 at the time.

Would love to see us do it just once though, really would.

I dont care if utd or any of the others win 20 in a row after it, just once thats not to much to ask is it?

Robb that is very true.

Also I dont get this hate thing for other teams/clubs.

Rivalry and banter is great, I love our rivalry with utd, it is one of the things that make both our clubs great.

But hate, dont get that at all. At the end of the day its just a game involving normally 22 spoilt millionaires kicking a ball about the park

You'd think!

I was ten when we last won it. Just wanna have a good drink with my family and friends to it!

Saying that I've seen the treble and the European cup. My mate follows Oxford home and away. He would laugh in the face of the whiney b!tches and the glory boys like Mudd.

My sentiments exactly but alas I dont hold out much hope.

Hopefully I am only about half way through my life

Although that would mean 41 more years of torture. Oh well......................................................................
