I wouldn't swap Vardy for Ronaldo Spurtle. Because we would lose our spirit and wouldn't be able to come from 2 down

Agreed. Ronaldo and Messi are spiritless. Both would fail in Leicester's set up and look anonymous.

"I think we look great - at the minute. I want to see how we respond when, as Ranieri is warning people, we hit a rut. That means maybe losing 3 games in a row. Perhaps Vardy gets ruled out for 2 months - what then?"

We know how the players will cope, they coped excellently last year through a long bad spell, it's Ranieri that we need to know how he'll react!

Yep, I include Ranieri when I say 'we'

I want to see how this Leicester team, with Ranieri at the helm, respond after the inevitable bad run which looking at the fixtures will probably come in December

Yeah but Arro we are only 9 games in. What if Albrighton goes off the boil? What if drinkwater goes missing again like he did last season? Did you see mahrez against Bournemouth? They doubled up on him and he was nullified. He was nullified in the middle against arsenal.

I think we look great - at the minute. I want to see how we respond when, as Ranieri is warning people, we hit a rut. That means maybe losing 3 games in a row. Perhaps Vardy gets ruled out for 2 months - what then?

It's very early to be boldly suggesting we are competing with Spurs this season when Ranieri has simply targeted survival.

For me Eriksen would easily walk into our team along with the whole of their defence and GK, so that's 6 players.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe because I see us getting better not worse and I have every confidence that we won't be struggling for results again while we play like this.

We haven't been playing out of our skins, we've actually been pretty average yet still managed to get ourselves in to 5th with just one defeat. We're nowhere near as good yet as we will be!

Their defence yes but thats not what they said, in fact they picked the defence plus Alli, Lamela, Kane, Son and Eriksen and I'm sorry but get ffuccked would they.

How is Eriksen waltzing into the team when Inler can't? I'm not buying that anyone will walk into our team!

We've got the strength in depth to cope without players being off form etc. We rested Mahrez and didn't need him. We rested our whole team against West Ham and didn't nedd any of them!

Yeah well BS it seems you're like everyone else just waiting for us to fall apart but I'm telling you now it's not going to happen. This is how good we are now and the evidence for that is the fact these perfomances and results have been consistent over the last 20 games. That's not a run or form anymore, why can't you see that? Surely you're not that blind and pessimistic not to realise/admit that we're actually a very good side and not many teams are better than us! I can see it so why can't you?

I think it's more the Ronaldo and Messi comments that's making them howl with laughter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What they get the joke then? Well that's good 👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a hell of a long time to tell one joke.......and keep telling it....again and again and again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you actually talking about? The fact I don't want Ronaldo because I think he'll ruin our team spirit? There's nothing to suggest he won't so not sure why you're arguing that it won't happen because it easily could if we have a big time Charlie thinking he's too good for us! You're naive if you think that couldn't happen! Totally naive!!

I laughed that Vardy has scored as many as both of them so far, what's not funny about that?

I've never said Vardy is better than either just that I value our team spirit more!

If you gave me a choice between 11 foreigners winning the PL and being a team I don't feel a connection with then no thanks! I'd hate is to become like Southampton with barely any British players, it's not what I want for my club!

Do you think I care about winning stuff? I'm a Leicester fan and its no big deal if we win anything or not, it's unexpected and unnecessary in order for me to enjoy suppporting us. So is it so wild that i wouldnt be bothered about Ronaldo? Yeah he's a fantastic player but I honestly don't care!

I love the spirit and what this team are about far more than one big time Charlie and I'm not wrong for having that opinion because I don't care about winning anything, it's really really not important but having a team I can relate to absolutely is! If you can't understand that then Lord help you!

We've got nothing to fear from anyone and I bet we'll pick up points in December. Chelsea and City at home and Liverpool and Everton away aren't that bad!

I think we are a really good side playing fantastically but I'm not naive enough to think we won't hit a bad patch. Chelsea have, they are better than us.

Why do you think CR is warning us that it will happen? Because that's football. Even Man city can have a bad patch. It happens. What I'm saying is that we haven't see Ranieri and this side go through that yet.

Do you think we would be picking up these results if Vardy got injured? Do we have strength in depth to keep going if he did?

I don't think it's the article Arro......
----------------------------------------------------------------------
BS
It is very much the post.
I complimented Arro on his dedication to the cause but if we are going to post links to back up an opinion etc then surely they need to be factually correct or they are open to dissection and this dilutes Arro's point.

I actually think we do have strength in depth, we have Ulloa and Kramaric who are both good players and could score goals for us.

This team don't look like going through the kind of slump we have in the past and when we have been defeated, we've gone out an won the next game. We're very hard to beat and I don't see that changing for as long as we have this spirit about us.

The Spurs fans took the piiiisss but I think it's extremely important and definitely something I care about us not losing. It's the difference bwtween no points, one point or all three. You could say our spirit has won us 7 points so far. Invaluable! As such i don't see a slump of several games.

We're not even playing well now, we're doing alright but certainly not as well as we can do so how bad do you think we're going to get? If we were playing above ourselves I'd say fair enough it's going to happen but the reality is we're not. We're ticking along doing our thing and for the most part, avoiding defeat but without particularly playing well. We play well/unstoppqble in spells and we could easily start playing like that more consistently just as easily as we could struggle.

People expected the bubble to burst after Arsenal but it's clearly not! We are extremely consistent and I expect us to get better not worse!

Another great article Arro

So good to see so many positive things about us instead of the doom and gloom merchants holding sway.

I feel like I'm shouting words but nobody is hearing me.

If Vardy got injured, we have a ready made replacement in Okazaki. Bee, very similar in style and attributes. Only difference so far is Oki is being asked to do a different job to accommodate Vardy!

So do we have the strength in depth to replace Vardy?

I say yes. The defence is what makes me nervous should we lose 1-2 players!

I agree Mersey, we have great depth now.

If I'm honest Arro, I prefer your own threads to the articles you post - that's a fact!

You know, it occurs to me that if something did happen to Vardy then we've got a ready-made replacement in Okazaki. Despite the fact that he's currently ploughing a different furrow, it'd be interesting to see what he could do given the number 9 role, although of course hopefully not for a while!

The defence worries me though, particularly if we lose one or two players.

And I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned this before.

Gary Neville reckons Vardy has everything you want in a striker and said he reckons 95% of PL clubs would want him in their pool of strikers.

He also said he gives the players behind him "no excuse" not to work hard. I'm just asking if any other player anywhere has that said about them? Maybe they do but I cant recall?

Im just adding a touch of realism to the debate. We look fantastic, full of spirit and that will be great and really important if we lose 2 or 3 games in December.

Let me put it this way, do you think we will finish 5th? I don't, but that's not me being negative, that's me adding some realism to it and a counter to the 'we don't need Ronaldo or Messi' argument

They can find plenty of excuse when he plays in the England team, arro.
