In his prime, Campbell is the best CB in PL history imo.

Better on the ball & faster than Terry, stronger & faster than Rio. You could pair him with any other type of CB and he could play in a high-line or low block.

Don't think Kane would trouble him too much but Vardy's raw speed could trouble any defender at times.

Campbell was a very average central defender, started off as a midfielder, but wasn`t any good there either.

to be fair, campbell used to play against the likes of Van Nistelrooy and Alan Shearer. And the PL also had Henry.

Comparing Vardy and Kane to that level of strikers is not really a comparison at all. They will never reach that level. These two being the best the PL can offer (mainly due to Aguero being a crock) is poor for the PL.

Sol has a point but he does come across as a bit full of himself

I think you'll find Merson has likened Vardy to Henry, his finish against you actually, funnily enough.

But Vardy has done something nobody else has done, including Shearer, Van Nistelrooy, Henry and thats score in more than eight games in the same season, he's actually gone two better.

Vardy's pace will cause every single defender in the world problems. He's faster than anyone he comes up against and the fact he never gives defenders time to pick a pass, Sol would have been caught dilly dallying.

===============

I'm sorry but whilst i admit he was one of the best in his era, he was simply awful on the ball. He could make a medicine ball bobble if he only kicked it 2 yards. A quality defender but he was absolutely terrible on the floor.

also people forget that it was his mistake in heading it back to robinson in goal for england that led to the goalkeeper being castigated wrongley in my opinion and the demise of his england career while he swerved any blame

Nobody rated him that highly when he was playing and he definitely wasn't anywhere near one of the best centre backs the PL had seen.

King was better than Campbell, and so were both Terry & Ferdinand much as it hurts to say so!

Vidic also was very good in my book!

I found Mcmanaman and Wright bias carried over from last season and preseason to this season on fletch and sav.
