Look Don, it's not that I am anti English players, or PL proven ones - far from it - it's just I think Berahino:
1. Is a pretty average PL goalscorer. Something like 15-20 goals from open play in 80 games or so.
2. Is vastly overpriced
3. Doesn't look a good fit up top alone in our system, or skilful or creative as our other options wide.
4. Has an attitude that us ringing alarm bells.
If he was available for about 10m I'd still be hesitant. I could end up wrong of course, but the only argument so far I'm favour is he's English and played with Kane a few times
F**k Berahino. Only an idiot would post on Twitter what he did when WBA decided not to sell. Instead of knuckling down and thanking the gods to be a pro footballer he still seems to be sulking, i don't want clowns like this at Spurs.
This seems to be the sort of player that will kick up a right stink when things like contract renewals come up and he realises he isn't on parity with other members of the squad.
No thanks. Like Chronic says, there are plenty of talented players across the continent that would give their right arm to be in this kids position, let's go after them.
My opinion would be to go for Austin, and one of the younger strikers, such as Dembele or Embolo.
Austin would slot straight in to the squad now, would be relatively cheap (contract almost up) and it would give us a replacement centre forward we could trust in Kane's absence.
The younger lad would be loaned out immediately, at the highest level we could. Probably back to their parent club.
Assess in the Summer, if we have to move Austin on there will be no shortage of takers
"The younger lad would be loaned out immediately, at the highest level we could. Probably back to their CURRENT club."
After all the B shiet id still take berahino
Maybe we should try and sign one of Anichebe, Ideye or Rondon seeing as they're apparently keeping the quality Berahino on the bench.
